Mitchell Johnson (27-31)

Shakib Al Hasan (36-40)

Shaun Pollock (23-27)
Malcolm Marshall (<23)
Harbhajan Singh (31+)
Mitchell Johnson (27-31)

Ok turns out I was accidentally on page 2 of my cricinfo filter. Fixed and this is my final pick for round 5.

I like this attack. Pollock and Marshall to open, Johnson first change and then two spinners who turn the ball in different directions. All three pace bowlers test the batsmen in different ways. Marshall with movement, Pollock with line and length and Johnson with the left arm sheer intimidation factor. Well over 1500 test wickets between the 5 bowlers.

I would say it's better than the 36-40 and 32-36 honestly. At least in terms of 'good' batsmen

And also wait a minute Stephen, what are you talking about with that none with 3000 runs stat? There's several with 5000+

Yeah, I think there are plenty of good options in the 40-44 bracket, I would go as far as saying the top 5 best players in that bracket haven't even been picked yet. Slim pickings in the two brackets that follow of course.

Yeah it was a mistake. I somehow ended on page 2 of the cricinfo filter and the last two guys from that bracket that were picked were both on that page. I checked myself after I posted and have fixed everything up now. It's a lot less urgent than I thought it was.

Heckuva depth to the batting if Johnson's slated as your #11 too.

Yeah. I figure I'm going to end up with sub optimal batsmen in the lower ranges (at least) and this should in part make up for it. I haven't really finalised the lineup of the tail, but Marshall, Johnson and Harbhajan all could legitimately bat 8 in most sides. With Pollock at 8 in this side it gives the side a lot of depth.

Looking a bit more closely I'll probably go with a tail of:

Pollock
Johnson
Harbhajan
Marshall

Of course now the hard part is crafting a batting lineup to match...
