For those more in the know on SC cricket, was his average a product of his time where spinners weren't rated? or were Pak conditions geared towards Imran and the like? Would he have a better record if he played more in India?

anyone know?
He was the best of the 80s spinners but 80s spinners were garbage for the most part. Pitch conditions worldwide were more conducive to pace as well.

Qadir wasn't as good as Warne. Not by a long shot. He's the best of a bad bunch in a bad era.

In fact the 80s was the worst era for would cricket all round. The skill level of batsmen worldwide wasn't that high and neither was the bowling outside the West Indies and the big all rounders of the era.

The 90s saw marked skill improvement worldwide and the reintroduction of South Africa breathed fresh life into the sport. In fact if they had have been around in the 80s the talent on offer worldwide would have gone up since they were almost certainly the second best side in the world in that era.

Still its pretty impressive Fuller has filled 4 tough bands with 4 very good players
Very true.

The 31+ average bowler band in particular is very hard to fill well. I was counting on Shakib to give me a second spin option so I could grab a spinner from that band. I imagine most people will either pick up their spinner from that band or use it for their 4th best pace bowler, having picked up a better quick in their top 7.

Who is going to be up for the next couple hours who would be willing for me to send my pick to them if possible, if Trundler was unable to pick soonish as going to bed within probably the next 20/30 minutes?

The picks are going to get a lot tougher from round 5. The strengths of our teams have been established and those who haven't gotten in early on some of the more popular or difficult categories are going to dislike their choices.

Vettori's not a bad pick. There'll be worse batsmen in the under 32 group picked and that's not even with his bowling considered.
