A question for the Aussies on here about Scott Boland.

Why has he not been picked alot earlier in his career. Obviously he's up against some fine bolwers and even he must be surprised at just how well he's doing.

His 1st class record is good but not outstanding. Has he been hiding in plain sight or has he improved significantly in recent years.
Similar to Stuart Clark in that he started out as a bowler trying to bowl quick and developed into a high quality fast medium over time

Australia also values pace over everything so a bit unfashionable

Yeah Clark is a great comparison.

Blood bath of 1976 test in Westindies

Bedi declared innings from 273/3-- 313/6 declared

2nd innings 97/5 bedi called players back to the pavillion

Gundappa Viswanath had a plaster cast running from his forearm to fingers. Anshuman Gaekwad was barely recognisable; his features wrapped from chin to crown in white dressing. Brijesh Patel had three stitches on his upper lip.

Slightly less alarming, but nevertheless claimed as serious enough to prevent them from batting, were the injured fingers of skipper Bishan Bedi and his spin bowling partner Bhagwat Chandrasekhar.

We should stops here at oval

After the last WTC cycle, I was hopeful india would be better, and they arguably were. After this cycle, I forsee a pretty big fall in quality and rankings. India have fallen badly (despite the wins) after the india tour of Australia.
They've been massively reliant on a handful of players for far too long. Think the stubborn refusal to try some of the younger ranji batsmen out is going to lead to 3-4 years of serious mediocrity.
