And the quicks. Really good innings after that horrible start, however average the bowling has been.

Well done young lad.

Must say the pitch has looked decent other than the odd bit of turn. Good value for shots, hit through the line etc. That spin could be the difference though.

Could hurt us, these big shots from Bravo.

England would have willingly taken 180 though after that start.

9.40 local time I see! Supper break, is this?

Dernbach is such rubbish. Incredible he still gets a game as this death bowler specialist.

Tis not hard to work out why imo. He has a pretty unique skill and coaches love cricketers who 'think outside the box' and are a bit 'unique' no matter their performances.

He is **** but I don't know who we could replace him with. Bresnan is down on pace and historically fairly expensive in the one day stuff, and other bowlers like Woakes and Meaker who seem to have been earmarked are even more expensive than Jade. Only other viable options would probably be Jimmy or Ravi as a specialist bowler (lol). And the latter is ridiculous in reality.

Haha what an awful awful awful shot. Really. Didn't move his feet, or look at the ball, or keep his head still despite all that.

Edit: Okayy let's watch summat else.

Too many passengers - in the first XI and in the squad. T20 has evolved meanwhile Bedwetter hasn't, yet we still pick him and other one trick ponies like Dernbach - oh wait he has different slower balls that he can get hit for 4 with. Yet at the same time we omit Bresnan (part of the World Cup winning side) after we've been picking him all season when he's been 70-80% fit.

It's like the England selectors are the only people who haven't realised Dernbach and Bopara are ****. Sadsack basically had to exile himself repeatedly to get out of the team, being complete ****ing yturd alone wasn't enough. The replacements haven't had the chance to show if they're good enough and the 'plans' seem to be made up as they go along. Oh and Broad telegraphing what you're going to bowl in the press conference the day before in a format like T20 is beyond ****ing stupid.

Bairstow doing the Bopara role nicely mind. Again though I can't understand what he has done to show he can be better than poor in T20Is - has a horrible domestic T20 record.

Absolutely atrocious innings. Can we get back to the time when England picked people on merit instead of well whatever baffling ****ing thing they use lately?

Can't expect kids like Bairstow & Hales to bail us out when the experienced players contribute nothing at all.

'English batsmanship' continues to the biggest oxymoron going.

I'd like to think that this WC will be the last we'll see of Kieswetter & Dernbach's special brand of uselessness.

Radio 4 LW goes to the shipping forecast, England's innings is a wreck. 10th over: two runs, one wicket. A beautifully judged running catch by Pollard (would have been a 6) - Bairstow's torment is over.
