I doubt the list you're talking about is the actual batting line up tbf. I would've thrown Boult in there for one of Nicol, Franklin, Elliot, Neesham etc though.

Why don't NZ ever react to common sense decisions? I get that Brownlie was only originally selected for the tests, but clearly he's in form and would have a much better chance of handling their bowlers than 'charge or block' Nicol. We never think ffs
