And this alerted me to the fact that the guy I thought was Blocky, definitely is Blocky. Jumps on facebook, tells everyone that this incident is indicative of the softness of NZC, he wouldn't have been suspended but applauded in Australia and that's why we can't get near them in Test cricket.
There are a surprising number of people around who share Blocky's opinions on things like this. I know for a fact he exaggerated some of his cricketing achievements while he was here so I wouldn't be basing my guess off those.

Damn, was hoping for a century from number 11 for Sandhu but he falls at 82, with McClenaghan stranded on 73*. Nethula scored 52 as well.

... and we thought New Zealand were terrible at letting the opposition tail wag!

Just watching those sixes. Heh, he's a big dude, unco setup at the crease, and four times swung the golf club in an arc towards mid-on with the ball slicing straight down the ground for six.

The six straight back over Gibson's head was glorious though.

Why did he get banned anyway? I just saw the other day and logged straight back in.

You're confusing Howsie's fringe international Zak Gibson with the journeyman Baker here, surely. Gibson's figures do look lousy enough for tales of a No. 11 smashing him over his head to be true though.

Also, annoying to see Bruce is batting at 6 for CD. I know their batting is absolutely stacked but if he's to push for an NZ spot then he should be batting 4 or 5 at lowest.

I see Ben Smith is back at the crease and ready to resume his mediocre runs accumulation for Team Kippax, despite Bennett's best efforts to take him out of the play, here -

Before you all start counting down the days until Bowes has qualified for NZ, beware that there have been some glaring short ball issues with him. A bit of a new and slightly more co-ordinated Carl Cachopa on that front.

What I saw of him, he did like that front dog a lot. But good to see him get another big hundred.

Dropped into EPOO twice today, can report that the pitch has even less bounce than usual. Like a road made of porridge. Carter (or perhaps Cooper, they look the same to me) was able to pull short balls from Mitch easily through mid wicket and wide mid on.

Ferguson was impressive, last saw him at EPOO 2 (?) years ago (went to check on Cricket Archive and it's now paywalled !!!), when he and Mitch were bowling with similar pace and aggression. Ferguson now 5 clicks faster and more accurate, Mitch looks 5 clicks slower, assume is still recovering from injury, may not get much IPL game time at this rate.

How dare Zak Gibson at 19 isn't carving up domestic teams...... he'll never make it as a cricketer in NZ. Sigh.

Already getting that Tim Seifert treatment.

I'd be surprised if many on here thought that Seifert won't play for NZ. It's just that he's done nothing to deserve it just yet.

You really have to decide what you want, Howsie. An international spotlight and scrutiny for these callow youths you push barrows for, or to turn the CW domestic thread into a safe space.

Who else is an option for 3rd seamer?
Zak Gibson?
Zak Gibson a possible bolter for the South African ODI's?
