Trott's too old to be a future captain IMO.
Would guess Strauss was older when he got the gig, so not impossible.

Cook the obvious shout, but he's clearly not a definite for our ODI line up and we're not keen on the split captaincy dealy.

There was a whole choke discussion about England vs. India, debating who did choke, and whether both did.

Du plessis wicket was  Don't see how that wasn't an implosion.
Well no one lost that one, so...

In that match no one had it in the bag then terminally lost it. England's tail batted brilliantly but Munaf's last over was pinpoint for most of it, so it's hard to say anyone fluffed it when the pressure was at its highest.

---

@BB, Strauss's only two years older than him IIRC.

My point was that the word choking is spoken about whether SA are playing or not.

Who says minnows don't belong in the WC!

Just kidding :p England bowled superbly, been the most entertaining team of the tournament so far.

I guess the only way we can read it is that Luke Wright is in the squad as a bowling allrounder.

I reckon we should just let sleeping dogs lie on that front, though. If we ask too many more questions like that they must just select him in the eleven to shut us up....
My favourite quote on Wright, referring to whether or not we finally know why he is selected:

Alex Bowden said:
Even a seven-match series isn't long enough to clarify whether Wright is a batsman who bowls, a one-day bowler who slogs, a fielder who bats-and-bowls or simply a blank canvas who doesn't get injured.

Big test for van Wyk. He has a superb List A record with a 40+ average and 17 hundreds; no doubt why he was picked to replace Boucher. Now he needs to deliver the goods in a tight World Cup game.
Failed miserably, and looked clueless in the process.

Great win from the soap dodgers

Most of the bowlers have looked totally clueless all tourney but they really stood up today

Wasnt expecting the Saffies to get bowled out and was actually going to put some money on the Aussies after today as SA would've probably been favourites

However, with this result and Hussey back, there's probably no pint as the odds will be too short

It's brilliant, no one can be reasonably called favourites. SA, India, SL, us, Pakistan are all definite contenders and England on this performance could arguably put in that category too - after all their batting has been fine before today.

Need a monumental performance from Broad/Swann for SA not to walk this.

One more thing to mention - tip my hat to Kallis. Class act.

Kallis is batting horribly at the moment, he needs to sort out his game quick smart if South Africa are to progress far in this tournament.

A real shame that AB isn't keeping anymore because it weeks the team, whether they include Botha who can bat a bit or pick another batsman like Ingram.

Van Wyk looked horrible today, it was a situation tailor made for Mark Boucher.
