The one upside to being a comedy club is the underperforming big earners will be easier to shift as they will be keen to get away.

Out of those players I think Lindelof and Eriksen are leaving on free this summer.

Antony, Rashford and Sancho could bring in some money, but I believe one of Mainoo and sadly Garnacho are locks to leave. Onana probably wants out, the rest will stay for better or more likely worse as I just don't think the interest will be their . Rasmus has interest from Italy for some reason.

The Athletic are adamant their is massive Saudi money ready for Bruno . I like him but I'd be curious to see what elite European teams will want him if he decides Saudi is not for him.
Man Utd would have to throw in some sort of sweetener to get any of them off the books because they'll be on mental wages.

People laughed when Mourinho said finishing 2nd was his greatest achievement.
De Gea, Pogba, Zlatan, Mata, Alexis, Young, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Valencia, Fellaini, Matic. Jose was putting abit of dip on the chip.

Jose would have won that Europa final though. I'm tempted to think that ETH would have too.

De Ligt has been pretty good when fit, I wouldn’t particularly want to move on from him. I’ve said before that it makes sense to sell Bruno, but at this point it’s risky, if he leaves we might be genuinely worried about relegation. Zirkzee has been almost as bad as Hojlund, but fewer people have noticed, so he might be a good selling opportunity. A realistic aim for 2025/6 is to try to finish top half while we work our way through the worst of the contracts and try to clean up financially so there’s room for manoeuvre in a year or two.

I would be genuinely unsure what to do with Bruno tbh. I find all the arguments for getting rid of him quite compelling. But at the same time, he's like the only player vaguely resembling "quality" in the entire side.

Sell high, use the cash to bring in unkown young things from France and the Bundesliga and hope for the best :naughty:

Yeah that is probably the kind of strategy I would be inclined to utilise tbh. But as uppercut has said, it would be pretty risky. For every Dimitri Payet type signing there's a Nicholas Pepe. At least with Bruno you know what you're getting.

Being so close to relegation by league position has made me wonder about the Adidas and shirt contracts the Glazers rely on to service the debt. There would have to be relegation clauses in there. Unless they never figured it could happen.

The Glazers need to go but since Ratcliff bailed them out I don’t see any options other than relegation. And that’s not a guarantee.

I think the team has looked better under Amorim the longer it has gone. Not great but less chaotic defending than ETH. Scoring is an issue. Hojlund and Zirkzee haven’t been good but the service isn’t there. A better striker without better service is going to have limited results.

It's hard to separate ability to get on the end of chances from quality of creative play, but the creative numbers of Diallo, Garnacho, and (especially) Bruno are pretty okay. They're making a reasonable number of chances for players that aren't called Hojlund or Zirkzee. They even make chances for Maguire or Mainoo when those guys go up front. 9/11 have sub-Championship tier ability to get on the end of anything, and it's making our creative players look worse, rather than the other way round.

I doubt they will be able to attract a proven goal scorer without silly wages, which they said they were done with. Delap seems like putting hope on a younger player like Hojlund. Cuhna seems more of a 10 or a forward from what I’ve seen.

Think you’re a bit harsh on Zirkzee who looks like he could be a player when he plays deeper. He’s not a striker.

Wirtz to Liverpool looks to be happening. Huge signing and will be the biggest any club makes this summer.

First time we've signed a certified world class player since Torres in 2008.

Slot aint messin' about.

Y'all can have Patrick Bamford. He scored 17 goals in the EPL some years back, and his run of injuries means he is way undervalued. :naughty:

Sunderland don't look like they're up to much today. I would like to see them in the Premier League again but would rather have newly minted Bangladesh midfielder Hamza Choudhury back there. The nation has already gone mental about him being involved. There'll be another outpouring of pride if he's a current Premier League player rather than a former one.

Thiago possibly in that category I think. But Wirtz easily more heralded and the more Torresy one

Not a bad shout, didn't include him due to his age and the injury record. That was speculative value-hunting from FSG but unfortunately Thiago's body was well past it.

Wirtz is a wonderkid and transformative signing. He'll walk in immediately as the best 10 in the league. Talk is we're trying to negotiate it for under £100m and may even throw a player in return so the fee and pressure isn't absurd.

I just hope we can get it done quickly then we can move on to Kerkez, CB, and a striker.

The Martinez red card in the Villa game is absolutely hilarious, absolutely no need as Rasmus was never going to finish that !
