Yeah they are (althoug both made career best today) but it happens pretty much every match, had enough of our inefective bowling this season, this was a must win game and now it will be another draw at best.
It's the side-effect of Tahir's poor form. The fantastic run at the end of last season was built on his ability to completely clean up the tail for SFA under all circumstances. When he's not bowling well, players like Rashid and Shahzad can do damage. Even Hoggard and Kruis got runs ffs.

Onions is bloody annoying. He bowled some of the most ridiculous tripe at Headingley at times and yet you could tell that if he got his line and length right, he would be causing problems. From his figures in domestic cricket you would think that he can bowl fairly accurately, but its frustrating that he hasnt been able to do that in international cricket just yet.

In his five Tests so far I've got the impression that he's always going to get hit for runs but will keep his average decent because he takes wickets regularly. Have never seen much of him for Durham so I don't know how accurate an appraisal that is

Why did Middlesex declare against Essex? They were never going to win, Essex would have just shut up shop if they'd have got a bad start and only had 45 overs or so to bat out. Madness. I guess that's what being pretty much winless this year does to you.

Looks like I can't go the footy tomorrow, the upside of this is that I'll watch T20 finals day, always enjoy this

Surprised and pleased by Middlesex's declaration that let Essex in with a chance of victory, and it was nice to have Cook and Bopara back!

Lancs and Leics both hung on well for respective draws, Mark Chilton shoring things up for Lancs with Francois du Plessis, while James Taylor and Jigar Naik do an outstanding job in rescuing Leicester.

Yorkshire and Kent do their seasons a great deal of good with convincing wins against Hants and Northants. Good game for Adil Rashid, backing up his century with 5 wickets in the second innings, encouraging signs. Northants should be mightily disappointed with their game against Kent. Set an unlikely 329 to win, they subsided to a quite pathetic 90, in the face of some decent spin by all accounts. Worrying sign for Monty Panesar that his match figures read 43.4-7-127-2., his second innings effort the most disappointing aspect (21.4-1-71-0), while James Tredwell registered 44.4-13-100-10, an outstanding effort.

Also a great reply from Warwickshire after being forced into following on, Jon Trott and Ian Bell predictably coming to the party second time around.

James Benning off to Leics for 2 years.
May go some way to replacing Jim Allenby, who has nipped off to Glamorgan. Obviously Benning signed with the heavy limited overs calendar taken into account for next year. Could make a decent impact.
