Not to put a dampener on it but if it was first class I'd rather Ambrose than Buttler.
Yeah but if Buttler goes somewhere, he is having the gloves for all 3 formats. Rightly or wrongly. Ambrose could play as a specialist bat easily as well. As I said Trott/Bell not in the team so sub them for Ambrose and probably Troughton.

He did say a few weeks ago he needs to play Division 1 to stay in the selectors thoughts. Or maybe they have told him he is out of the picture and he is staying at Somerset.

Doubt it. Would be pretty stupid to sign a contract for 3 years which could be nullified in a month. He'd surely just wait till the season ended otherwise.
