Both teams have now confirmed their rather bland squads, so it's time for a thread.

Nov 17-19: ACT/NSW XI v Windies, Canberra
Nov 23-26: PM's XI v Windies, Canberra (day-night)
Nov 30 – Dec 4: First Test, Perth Stadium, 1020 AWST, 1320 AEDT
Dec 8-12: Second Test, Adelaide Oval, 1430 ACDT, 1500 AEDT

Australia squad: Pat Cummins (c), Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, David Warner

West Indies squad: Kraigg Brathwaite (c), Jermaine Blackwood, Nkrumah Bonner, Shamarh Brooks, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Roston Chase, Joshua Da Silva, Jason Holder, Alzarri Joseph, Kyle Mayers, Anderson Phillip, Raymon Reifer, Kemar Roach, Jayden Seales, Devon Thomas

Scott Boland's 18 wickets @9.6 couldn't be ignored, he really deserves a decent crack.
Only real surprise is Marcus Harris retains his spot, but it's good to see Usman continuing to play, and why not when you're in that type of recent form.

Of course few things would be complete with CA's genius scheduling, with Perth's self-inflicted isolation being ended with a test starting on a Wednesday.

Looking forward to seeing Harris being squared up & knicking off again after his stellar record for Gloucestershire

He and Cameron Green are the only real weak links (at least potentially) I see though tbh. Everyone else is decent to brilliant. It's going to be a long old tour for us even though it's so short

I'm looking forward to seeing how Jayden Seales bowls with a Kookaburra. He has been class so far, lets hope that continues.

So are the likely sides...

Warner, Khawaja, Labuschagne, Smith, Head, Green, Carey (wk), Cummins, Hazelwood, Starc, Lyon

vs

Braithwaite, Chanderpaul, Bonner, Mayers, Blackwood, Holder, Da Silva (wk), Chase, Joseph, Roach, Seales

Lord have mercy, I will be watching us bat from behind the sofa. Note the fact Chase is there is an absolute travesty but now he is they will definitely play him.

It'll be a great place for Jayden Seales to test out his skills. Looks like one of West Indies best pace bowling prospects in recent years, no doubt
a tough tour for him down under but he'll likely benefit well from the experience.

Yep seeing how Chanderpaul, Mayers, Da Silva and Seales go are the interesting parts of the tour from a Windies perspective.

Our seam bowling is in good shape for the most part, with Seales emerging and Joseph finally becoming the bowler we all hoped he would be. But there are still question marks over Holder and Roach's effectiveness with the kookaburra. They are basically half as effective with it, which is a problem.

Young all-rounder averaging 36/32 is a weak link?

Not a bad player at all just not as good as the rest. At least that's my opinion having watched him a reasonable amount. Don't get me wrong, he would probably make our side as a specialist batsman, it's all relative
I really hope that West Indies go for the lower order formula that worked against England .

6.Mayers
7.Holder
8.Da Silva (WK)

I feel this batting order really made the Windies greater than the sum of their parts against quality seamers

Would drop Chase for Seales and use Bonner, Blackwood and Brathwaite for whatever spin is needed, esp. in Perth.

I completely agree. But our team management always seem obsessed with Chase and I fully expect them to play him.
