I think Jason's selection is nowhere near as bad as Mithun's though. Not that it's a good enough reason, but he captained the WI B team vs BD when everyone else opted out, and imagine dropping your stand-in captain after a single series lol. And he has a more than decent list A record on top of everything.

MIthun has a perfectly mediocre list A record, has gotten plenty of chances and makes the most ordinary of the bowlers look threatening. Everyone else was scoring with ease yday, this **** was getting beaten each time someone bowls outside the off stump on a flat track -_-
Yeah, I was surprised when he was made captain. Didn't know that he had a good list A record. Never saw him perform in any match.

What is up with starc's absurd amount of 5fers in Odi's? has 8 in 180, most of the top wicket taking pacers have less than or maybe equal to that with double his wickets, only guy who's close is waqar younis.

Fizz has 5 in 127, but yeah I agree. Just bowls devastating spells in that period, beast.

Oh yeah obv Boult, he has comparable stats too, despite the slump off late. Although S/r of Fizz and Starc is a notch above tbh, near-identical stats. I'd say it's still those three, despite being a relatively bowler-friendly era (although tbf it's more up and down in ODIs). Hasan Ali has 4 in 57.

Good Lord that was some awful batting. Literally all we have to do is see off the new ball. If there was any doubt as to how important Shai Hope is to our ODI side, there isn't now.

I did worry looking at that batting lineup. Mohammed is not good enough and is basically in because Chase is injured and his off breaks worked against Sri Lanka. Re-think needed. If Fabian is fit he must come back in.

Delighted for Walsh Jr though, he is looking so much better now.

I think in the last 50 ODIs between these two sides the record is something like Australua winning 41, West Indies 6 and the rest Tie/NR.

Just an extraordinary dominance going back more than two decades.
I genuinely think we have sucked hard at ODI's for most of that period, with the Aussies boasting a couple of ATG level teams. This current lot should not be losing to this Aussie squad though IMHO. It is worrying.

Jeez there are some genuine hack sloggers in the Windies side. FTBs of the highest order.

Didn't get the balance right. Shai Hope has been amazing at the top of the order, batting long and enabling the 'hack sloggers' to do their thing. Without him our batting lacks substance.

Am hoping this tour will finally be the end of Wade at international level. He's repeatedly shown he just isn't up to it across all three formats. Constantly flatters to deceive at domestic level, then spuds it up when it matters. A couple of his appalling dismissal played India back into test matches last summer, and his numbers are woeful. He should be gone.

This is happening a lot. IMO batting is too easy at Shield level, with flat wickets and some ordinary bowling. Gone are the days where a guy averaging 40 in the Shield would come into Tests and have the same output
There's definitely been a TON of flat decks recently, there's a reason all of was too 6 minus cawrtgrite made 3 tons last season and drew most of their games.

Any way Khwaja is making his way back, at least in the limited-overs side? I'd anyday take him over the likes of Wade. Test side too, surely he's better than spuds like Harris or Burns.

Saw him in PSL and didn't look out of form at all.

Tests I defo think he should be there, but I think that we've been flogging that horse for far too long. Same with Maxwell, it's insane the chances spuds like Harris and Wade get in relatively easier conditions and Maxi's been randomly picked for SC tours and dumped -_-

Khawaja really should be in the test team, either as an opener at 6, depending on puc's fitness. We know he's a test class bat with tons of experience, and just captained QLD to a shield title. Killed it last shield season aswell. No better option for a short term captain until cummins has more time domestically to be tested as captain, or green/marnus show potential as captains.
