How do these guys consistently tear up BBL but **** themselves at this stage.

Not taking a shot at the BBL or anything, but it's just really hard to look at these franchise comps and then predict how cricketers will do internationally. Malan had a shocking BBL season for example but is one of the best going around.
It’s also 6 months later on very different pitches

That, and the fact that these guys are either out of position compared to bbl, or don't have the power surge (2 overs of powerplay restricitons for middle order bats makes a HUGE difference when your getting started).

D'Arc'y S'hort and Tye are probably two others off the top of my head. Ben McDermott too maybe?

Gonna be honest didn't realise how subpar lynn's record was, he's class in the ipl aswell, bit of an anomaly.
Don't you just toss it up above Lynn's eye line and he holes out within four balls? That's the MO against him here. The bloke is borderline special needs against spin.

I feel the weakened Aussie side has enable us to experiment with our lineups and bowling options and still win extremely comfortably. With Pollard and Lewis to come in, our T20 side is looking pretty strong. We can definitely win the T20 World Cup if all goes our way, though there are still question marks about the middle overs against spin in helpful conditions.

"weakened" Aussie side, sure, but WI look like the real deal. They are winning these games easily.

At a certain point you got to stop sending these sides on tours though. Covid is a great excuse but I can't imagine that leaving all your big names at home and then the team getting thrashed is going to sit well with the board or sponsors or anyone else whoever really cares about this stuff.

The gap between international quality bowling attacks and domestic bowling attacks is huge. That extra yard of pace, the extra trickery of the spinners makes such a massive difference to the liberties a batsman can take.

But Australian batsmen in particular seem poorly suited to slow wickets and it's well and truly time we started preparing some to practice on.

I think it's more abut banning slow wickets tbh. Everyone knows it's not real cricket when it's played on those type of surfaces

We did this extensively leading up to the 2017 border-gavaskar series, and it worked wonders, all the batters in the squad could atleast survive on dustbowls.

This is St Lucia, by no means a slow wicket at all. It's the fastest deck in the Caribbean. WE just have McCoy and Bravo bowling high quality slower balls and I get the impression the Aussie batsmen have no clue how to deal with it. It will be interesting to see if they come up with a method in these last two matches.

The one who has surprised me is Finch. He should know how to handle skillful defensive bowling. But he has looked as clueless as any.

Very good partnership this given the long tail Aus has with Starc at eight and the generally junk middle order. MMarsh been generally pretty good this series
