Hinduism doesn't forbid alcohol, so Gujarat is a dry state for no apparent reason really. Definitely a bit odd

Although as OS alludes to, you can still get alcohol if you really want it. Wonder if Shastri has actually gotten a permit or if he'll just be smuggling his own bottles in.

^lol the **** are you on about? The complaint here's always been that he's been pipped for selection in favor of greenhorns despite carrying no flaw in his Test stats.

And that guy you call lollypop proved more than an able foil to Kumble until Harbhajan came along. A while ago now, but shooting darts wasn't the trend it is today back in the 90s.
The **** I am talking about is 5 wickets a match wicket taking abilities with about 25+ batting average with a brisk fielding commitment. Jadeja has all these, Ashwin has two of these three. While Kuldeep looks like a sleep walking dude.

Ahmedabad is a fine place and you can get booze. But it’s still not the same as having actual bars.

In any case, the amount of alcohol you’re allowed to buy is not that much. Eg max per seven days is like ten cans of beer, or a few bottles of wine or like 1 liquor bottle. Which are not 1) equivalent to each other, 2) stupid.

Not that it’s super hard to buy stuff illegally, but the laws are sooooo stupid.

Yeah like everything else, making something illegal only ensures a thriving underground market.
