I don't know why I'm struggling so much with the existence of Thursday night footy

All I can say is that I'm glad (almost certainly) that it isn't going to cost you guys this year.
Have a plan in store for next year where it won't matter how many weeks you miss. Hope you can still complete this year though.

Think the standard for missed tips is you are either given the lowest score for the round, or the lowest score -1.

The -1 could of course prove particularly harsh given my efforts this year.

Yeah I like lowest score -1
Means you're not hugely disadvantaged if you miss a week or 2, but also you never have the situation of "I would've scored better if I didn't tip" which is a feel bad moment

Some interesting lines there. Not sure how Melbourne give away such a big start to Canterbury unless Hughes and Pap are back this week. Also think the Titans are overs with only 3.5 start, but then again I'm running next to last so wtf do I know.

While the Warriors are still in the top 4, the reality is that post Metcalf and Barnett injuries we are at about the level of a team running 12th or 13th, and one who can't score points to boot. Even against the Titans (who've beaten us 3 times in a row) it's very hard to confidently pick us to win, let alone by more than a couple of points.
