Back to back babeh! Defensive systems getting better and now have some real pace and flair across the park. Good to watch. Great win given the players out for Origin and losing a centre in the first couple of minutes.

Shout out to Hawkins, who was excellent, Kicked them to death really, kept them in the corners all night.

This round proves beyond measure that somethig needs to be done about Origin scheduling. The NRL comp is a farce for the 4-6 weeks it’s on. They’re better off deferring the comp while it’s on. And I’m saying that as a supporter of a side which won this week

I don’t know the answer - maybe hold it later across 3 weekends, say a mo th out from finals so every side gets a freshen up before the run home.

Tough on the rep players I know, and the clubs may hate it as there’s less time to recover from any injuries. But they have to do something. From my perspective, Newcastle beating Penrith was the last straw.

i liked what they did in the first covid year when they did it after the grand final
it wasn't as economically viable or whatever but it was better for the game

The NRLW makes a decent show of it doing it before their season starts.

But seriously, would it be so awful to have like, 3 full round byes on Origin weeks? Feels like a simple solution.

If the bye is the week after, have games only on Thu/Fri/Sa the week before. If its the week before, have games only on Sat/Sun/Mon the week after.

FOUR quite big underdogs and FOUR upsets. Not just upsets but actually FOUR lashings.

Origin has always hampered the comp somewhat but these results seem somewhat ridiculous. Almost feels as if the fix is in.

Quick question since Origin is on 9, I’m finishing work about 5 mins before kickoff, so I won’t make it home til anywhere from 15-30 mins in the game. I’ll have to wait hours later for the Kayo full replay to see any of that first part of the game right?
