It's truly embarrasing from an English perspective, Absolute hogwash. Next thing they might be complaing about is Gilchrist's brutal run rate is outside the spirit in which Test cricket should be played. I have not been so dissapointed by English tripe since Anderson's appearance in the saffie series
By the way you do know its quite clear vvk made this up don't you?

Why do you think I produced a parody straight afterwards?

<quack> PARODY? That's investigative journalism, that is.

I've never had a good opinion of the MCC.. I think the first thing I remember hearing of them was how SA were banned from flying their brand new flag at Lord's after walloping England in 1994, and the Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Steve Tschwete were banned from congratulating them because they weren't wearing ties.. Then how Nasser Hussain and Mike Atherton weren't let in because the people didn't realize they happened to be captaining England..

I did a coaching course courtesy of the MCC at Lord's and remember ignoringall the old sh**s pretty much and acting like a really disinterested tosser..

I'm quite ashamed that foreign cricket fans love to come to Lord's, yet conveniently miss Edgbaston and Trent Bridge (Where cricket is for cricket fans)

Even though it's been reported that the ICC asked them to look into it?

From the Duck Times, letters page

Dear Sir:

My gast has never been more flabbered.

It has been brought to my attention that Brigadier Levington-Compost, head of security at Lord's, has come in for a degree of criticism over his decision to take preventative action against this vicar Johnny from the colonies - claimed to be some sort of ballerina but I can assure you he wasn't wearing a tutu or anything of the sort.

I can also categorically deny any tittle-tattle about anyone being prevented from flying any flag. There was no Union Jack in the hands of any of the South African cricketers - or even a Cross of St George. Flag indeed.

Let it be known here and now that NO-ONE can come into the Long Room without express invite, either by myself or Lord Farquington-Smythe, whether he claims to be captain of England or not, without a tie. Note that if the occasion demands formal dress, then it must be an MCC tie.

As far as Hassan and Athersomething being denied access to the Long Room, how is one supposed to keep track of all these Johnny-come-latelies? Neither of them played in the Gentlemen v Players game the previous week. You will be telling me they are not amateurs next.

Regarding Edgbaston or Trent Bridge, we encourage the England supporters to visit all of the foreign grounds when MCC are on tour, and not just those in Australia.

Yours etc, Colonel Muppet

Is it true that the Australian press is as pathetic as ours in England, and the Australian public as quick to raise protests of indignation at the skullduggery of the other side?

In short, are you as a nation as pathetic as us?

Oh, yes - and long may it continue.
Hmmm, having had exposure to both I'd say your press is slightly worse......as far as the indignation at skullduggery goes - guilty as charged! haha

We judge how pathetic we are as a nation on the number of trophies won, so.....no we're not! :p

We'll join you for a drink and exchange of pathetic stories though.

Yes, I went to see a test at Lords and got the impression that (amongst the suited gentry at least) it was more a competition to see who could produce the best picnic basket than anything to do with cricket.

Jolly good game though, what!

Having once received a rousing round of applause from the MCC members after making a particularly ordinary innings of 4 at Lords, you'll not hear me say a bad word against them. :D

Oh believe me I would jump at the chance to visit Test venue in England. As far as I am concerned the 'Gabba is the best one I have been too.
