Kane arguably pretty comfortably number 1 right now in the ICC rankings. Smith and Kohli are obviously still at a very high ranking but Williamson has only extended his lead. Has reached a new peak of 919 and moved to 22nd best ever peak in the alltime rankings.

Wonder if this is the highest ever top 3 score in an era of all time?

The World War 2 years give us Bradman 952, Headley 902 and Hammond 870. Given how the scale is logarithmic I reckon this is most impressive.

I had a look at the bowling rankings for 1974 on that date and 721,721 and 713 is the top 3. Sounds like a truly dreadful era for cricket from those numbers.
