He really looked like a prank part timer. His success came from the troll. Should've been used more anyway but if he was taken seriously as an allround option he would've been far less effective IMO.
Nah underrated. He was accurate and varied his pace and trajectory well. A moderate upgrade on Jayasuriya

edit: oh and all finger-spinners look like prank part-timers tbh

Taking this into account, Blewett might've been the best part-timer. Absolutely cbf 90% of the time but whenever he was asked to bowl he'd churn out beautiful 130-135km/hr outswingers and everyone would be like wtf.

Kallis is under-rated in ODIs here but it's definitely Watson.

He has a case to have been the best ODI player ever.
Not sure about best ODI player. Best ODI all rounder he has a more than legitimate claim.

Best ODI player is pretty difficult to decide. However when batting, bowling, fielding, X factor, "Where hell did that come from" performances and leadership all combined it would be difficult to look past Viv and Jayasuriya.

I remember Symonds picking up easy couple of wickets quite a few matches at the end in those years. Still he averaged 37 at econ of 5. No way was he a proper 5th bowler. But a good option to share those 10 overs by part-timers. Symonds Lehmann the Waughs Moody all combined to do a good job for 10 overs between them.
tbf out of your fifth bowler 1-2/50 off of 10 is quite a good haul, even in that era

ODI bowlers than Darren Lehmann is statistically (and in general) better than:

Kumar Dharmasena
Upul Chandana
Thilan Samaraweera
Rangana Herath (!)
Malinga Bandara
Dilruwan Perera
Suraj Randiv
Seekugge Prasanna

and etc.

Mean scores batting first in ODIs thru Symonds career were over 250.

An economy of 5 means he did his job as a 5th bowler just fine.

I think Watson's injury issues knock him out the running for best ever.

Hard to make a case against Viv in particular. Watsons bowling was obviously much better, but the fact that he actually did less bowling makes this gap smaller than the batting one. I assume Viv was the better fielder too?

Remember Watson's direct hit run out from the boundary with 1 stump to aim at against your boys in the 07 world cup

The fact that Migara made you look up these guys is a win for him, tbh.
