Difficult to judge the quality of PCB's selection committee when an asshole is the chairman,or rather, when the chairman is going to meddle in everything. If there was a reasonable man as Chairman, then things would probably be better.

Having said that, despite pulling idiot selection decisions every now and then,i would give the selection committee some credit for giving talented youngsters chances every now and then, quite a few who turn out to be seriously good. What happens afterwards, like in Asif and Amir's case for example,is another issue.Infact,i think among all boards,Pakistan is more likely to throw in a talented youngster at the biggest stage, and even though most of these youngsters are either picked out by former cricketers themselves,or have some sort of connection in the board, the frequency with which these youngters are given a chance at the highest level is something that the selection committee deserves a bit of credit for, despite all it's shortcoming.

It's Pakistan or West Indies. Sri Lanka's are poor but at least they don't mess around with leaving out their rare world-class batsmen.

Australia's are right up there though, and they have no excuse to be so incompetent. I still can't believe what they did regarding Hauritz on the eve of the Ashes, or that they made Michael Clarke T20 captain, or that they refused to pick Brad Hodge because they disliked his face.

WICB is just as bad as Pakistan if not worse . They just dont have huge morons like Butt who create headlines

As opposed to the WICB who just have their best players sit on the bench and a captain who can't make the team on either batting or bowling.

That's not exactly a selection decision though. More of a discipline/politics issue. Though agree on Sammy.

Pakistan selectors just pick random mediocre domestic players ,ignoring the best performers play them for 20 to 40 matches and then abandon them and then pick the next random player who is related to somebody in the board or something .

That's not even counting the discipline problems, squad chemistry etc and those problems like the recent removal of Afridi etc....

While I agree that Pakistan are pretty bad, the WICB is preventing what would otherwise be a very decent team.

The thing about Australia's selectors is that they're just a bunch of ****s.

Even Boony and Cox are bland and boring now. Can tell they are just itching to break free.

Aus vs SL in a couple of months should be a fun series.

Bowling average less than 45 would be considered greatness.

Tough question, rarely does any selection panel make a 100% correct decision.

In Australia we are witnessing an all-time high level of anger at our current selection committee. They have made some terrible decisions regarding our team in transition, but it is a ****ing hard job to get right. When your spin bowling choices are Hauritz, Doherty, Beer, Krejza, O'Keefe and Holland, the job suddenly doesn't become as easy as when you could rely upon Warne for a decade.

Yeah, but they didn't have to set up an authoritarian regime that permanently freezes out anyone who actually admits to being unhappy about not being selected when they really obviously should have been.

Got to give credit to the Indian ODI selectors here. Their rotation policy has been successful in building a fairly deep squad with decent international exposure, though it's arguable that it's not their own doing, but necessitated by the IPL and the amount of cricket played these days.

The English Test selectors are comfortably ahead of everyone else.
