Please post up your finished XIs soon
It's been so long since I completed my X!, I thought I'd best post it again.

1. CAG "Jack" Russell / (910 runs @ 56.87) but for injuries and illness, and the presence of openers Hobbs & Sutcliffe, he would have played more Tests.
2. Alan Melville v.c. / (894 runs @ 52.58) made his Test debut in 1938 then WWII interrupted his career. Regarded as a South African great.
3. Don Bradman capt. / (6996 runs @ 99.94) to quote a song, "Simply the Best".
4. Vinod Kambli / (1084 runs @ 54.20) for some reason was seen as a ODI specialist when his Test appearances suggest he should have played more in the longer form.
5. Eddie Paynter / (1540 runs @ 59.23) a courageous and attacking bat whose Test career ended with WWII.
6. Colin McCool /o (459 runs @ 35.30; 36 wickets @ 26.61) part of Bradman's invincibles team. With limited opportunities he moved to England to play Lancashire League and county cricket for Somerset. 18 1st class tons and 34 fivefers.
7. Steve Rhodes w/kp (294 runs @ 24.50 & 49 dismissals) proficient 'keeper who was overlooked when England wanted a keeper/batsman (Alec Stewart).
8. Sylvester Clarke o (42 wickets @ 27.85) was in the shadow of other West Indies quicks, banned for playing in the rebel tour of South Africa. Played with great distinction in county cricket for Surrey. 942 1st class wickets @ 19.42
9. Peter Heine o (56 wickets @ 25.08) a fast bowler renowned for his consummate hostility, he formed a potent Test combination with Neil Adcock.
10. Manny Martindale o (37 wickets @ 21.72) was the leading bowler when West Indies won their first Test series, against England in 1935–36. Employed bodyline tactics effectively. Moved to England to play league cricket in 1938 then WWII.
11. Bert "Dainty" Ironmonger o (74 wickets @ 17.97) a 'late bloomer' who made his Test debut at 46. Could turn the ball on flat tracks and was said to be unplayable on a 'turner'.

In short, a powerful top order (as evident by their averages), a pace trio with a nasty streak supported by a classy spinner and a capable all rounder. All led by The Greatest as captain.

Final team

Hanif Mohammed
Herbert Sutcliffe
Marnus Labuschagne
Wally Hammond
Sid Barnes
Allan Border (c)
Rishbant Pant (wk)
Vernon Philander
Hugh Trumble
Josh Hazelwood
Bob Willis

4 ATGs in the top 6 along with 2 others in Labuschagne and Barnes averaging 60+ with devastating batting from the keeper at 7. Would expect regular scores of 500+. The bowling consists of very good 3 aggressive and wily seamers supported by Australia’s finger spinning GOAT, while 3 very useful back-up bowlers (Wally, AB, and Marnus) add balance to the attack. Captain Grumpy would lead by example.

Rohit Sharma
Shahid Afridi
Younis Khan
Babar Azam
Steve Waugh (c)
Andy Flower (wk)
Adam Voges
Ravindra Jadeja
Shaun Pollock
R Ashwin
Mitchell Johnson

This team is not one to be under-rated. A very strong team for the sub-continent with all of the top 6 having worthy records in the continent as well as two ATG spinners in Ash and Jaddu with Afridi to support.

Younis Khan and Steve Waugh are my all conditions player to depend upon while Voges can make merry in Australia and against any moderate to weak attack. Also, my team bats deep till 11 to account for any fall of early wickets with diamond rocks in the middle.

In a pitch assisting pace, expecting my fiery pacer Mitch to induce fear in the opposition and Shaun to quietly chip out the wickets at the other end. Steve Waugh and Younis Khan can roll up some medium pace if my pacers need rest.

Finally, all of my team have good batting and bowling averages in their career and while some might not rate a few of them, they have actually achieved at international level on what they wanted to, which matters.

Fair enough then -

Shane Watson (5)
Kane Williamson
Ken Barrington
Sachin Tendulkar
Ranjitsinhji
AB de Villiers +
D Jardine *
C Grimmet (4)
Allan Donald (1)
J Garner (3)
M Asif (2)

1. ATG bowling attack, Garner and Donald to wreck anything that comes in their way with Asif and Grimmet with all their wile to follow, ably supported by Watson, with Sachin and Kane to chip in where needed.
2. A batting order that goes Williason - Barrington - Tendulkar - Ranji - ABD, 5 ATGs one after another to kill the hopes of any bowling attack - and two other very good batsman in Watson and Jardine.
3. Possibly the best ever captain in Jardine.

Batting order is suspect, but I don't think Jardine opening is a solution. Personally I don't see Kane being a massively weaker opener than a #3, but I realize plenty of people don't see things in the same way.

1) Bill Woodfull /
2) Alec Stewart /
3) Frank Worrell* / o
4) Graeme Pollock /
5) Lindsay Hassett /
6) Trevor Goddard o /
7) Jock Cameron + /
8) Ray Lindwall o /
9) Waqar Younis o
10) Bishan Bedi o
11) Courtney Walsh o

Woodfull's a rock at the top, and can work with Worrell and Hassett in an excellent senior unit to be on top game tactically.
Stewart ain't bad. He's relieved from the gloves so he can work to the best of his ability.
Worrell is an excellent captain and batsman who is fantastic in all conditions. Also a useful spin option.
Pollock is a batting great, simply put.
Hassett is underrated on CW. I reckon he's the 7th best Australian MOB, which may not sound like very much but that's equal with Neil Harvey and ahead of the likes of McCabe, Clarke, Hussey.
Goddard is another favourite, nice dour batsman to coalesce with the aggressive batsman Cameron, and legendarily economical bowler.
Cameron was unfortunate to die prematurely. But he did very well for his weakish side with the gloves and the bat. And that's really ATG keeper stuff.
Lindwall was the best bowler between Barnes and Trueman. And a #8 batsman. That says quite a bit about him.
Waqar is on a similar level to Lindwall, aka ATG.
Bedi was probably the best of the quartet.
Walsh moulds well with the rest of the bowling unit to form a balanced, strong attack.

You get JAJ Christy, Magz gets Akash Chopra, Red gets Baptiste and KK gets Baptiste. Fix em into your sides as you please tho
Two questions: aren't Boucher and Broad still to be picked? and how do two people get Baptiste?

I know I left this draft in a hot car on a sunny afternoon in Perth with no AC and the windows up. Sorry.

So Magz gets Boucher by default and I'll give Red Dick Spooner since it looks like he needs a keeper and Rusi Modi to KK.

In the previous drafts I played, people who failed to finish teams were typically given meme players which I think is valid enough.
Disqualification is better. You could take Bradman and settle for meme player. Such a way out can be misused
