Given Barnes bowled leg cutters why did he insist on new ball?

He didn’t bowl leg cutters, he bowled fast-medium leg spin (as he pointed out to Peter Gibbs in a conversation recounted in the 2012 Wisden).

Also, he might have been more willing to cede the new ball to Hadlee and Steyn than he was to JWHT Douglas. (Or he might not - who knows).

Steyn can bowl first change because he'll make best use of the old ball. He can reverse it. He averages in the teens with the old ball in Asia because of it. Hadlee and Barnes get the new ball so they can use conventional swing.

One particular gold performance got me thinking a bit. Muralis 5fa vs a weak Bangladesh batting lineup where he wrapped up the tail and middle order. Ultimately it doesnt make a difference, the margin was massive, just didnt feel golden to me

awesome DOG. Glad you figured out my wrong slash and to add the table tags. you can also set widths as such [td='width:200'] That will help to stop names wrapping. Also - you only need to define widths once, on the header(first) row

My next problem is trying to find and replace all the 4s with 9s in the batting list.

Unfortunately, excel won't let me do this. Whenever I try to find and replace 300*4)>4,4

with 300*9)>9,9

It comes back with 'There is a problem with this formula'

I'm not trying to type a formula, I'm trying to replace a number in a formula. It's very frustrating. Why won't it let me do this?
