Sutcliffe, Donnelly, Reid and Cowie. Add Dempster too I suppose.

Fun Bert Sutcliffe stat: he didn't play in a single win over 18 years.
Giff Vivian, Bob Blair, Graham Dowling, Dick Motz, Bev Congdon, Bruce Taylor, Frank Cameron, Richard Collinge.

I reckon you've got your date range out by about 10 years. Some decent players debuted in the early/mid-60s.

Some very good players debuted in 1969:
Turner obviously, but also Dayle Hadlee, Hedley Howarth, and Ken Wadsworth. The latter could've been a great keeper-batsman but tragically died of melanoma aged just 29.

Not Terrible
Who is the best player to not add anything to their team? Probably someone from the WI or AU golden eras that barely got a run. Jaques etc

Speaking of WI, Devon Smith played 43 tests and averaged only 23.That's horrific for an opening bat, shame on the selectors for flogging a dead horse.

pretty sure australia has been ranked #1 with a couple of "just ins" (justins) like harris and wade in the 11.

We had a very awkward moment under Vettori where we had Vettori, Taylor, Ryder, McCullum (wk) and then a collapse into like James Franklin. Chris Martin and Iain O'Brien were the only players you could call a middle ground.

Righto. Matthew Wade ahead of BJ Watling. You're dreaming.
If Watling was Aussie he'd be a discount Tim Paine struggling to make a state side

The exposure and opportunity he got playing for NZ is what allowed him to achieve what he did statistically

Codswallop. If we want to come up with spurious and speculative bull****, then Wade's failures against the moving ball would have seen him fail spectacularly in NZ First Class.
