haha, oh man classic Merv. Loved it when he didn't even bother appealing on the second LBW. Was that during GG's 220-odd?

Yep, the 226. Gordon was woefully out of touch for most of the knock, especially the first ton, and Merv obviously was keen to continue the bad blood between the two that hadstarted on the 88/89 tour. Gordon has said the two Aussies he despised the most were Hughes and Lawson. Merv has never got on with Gordon ever, they still remain enemies!

Ooo, hello. You wouldn't happen to have any footage of that short spell before Waugh got his ton where Donald roughed both he and his brother up would you? Honestly thought Donald was about to kill someone.

EDIT: :fap: at the late-cut at 3:38

Yeh, there was plenty of feeling between Healy and Haynes too (well, Heals and the entire WI team.....)

The 1991 series was just such awesome drama, best cricket I've seen overall because the standard was high but the intensity was something else. Was glorious watching Hughes and McD go hammer and tongs at the WI batters. Let down badly by their own batters and some of the fielding, though.

Yep I've got the crazy Donald spell, really fiery stuff with the new ball to the Waugh boys, couldn't believe they both saw him off, they got hit everywhere on the body.

A little bit, yes, except Clarke often appears to start running before he's finished playing the shot.

Very interesting to see them use the man next to the pitch. Ussie doesn't tend to be a strong driver straight down the wicket, and feeds off width; Victoria were making a concerted effort to keep the ball in tight to him.
