:-O I never knew David Murray was the son of Everton Weekes! It doesn't mention it on either man's Cricinfo profile; has this information only recently come to light?
Both Sir Everton Weekes and David Murray's cricinfo profiles link to each other as father and son. I don't believe it has only recently come to light, read many articles on the fall of David Murray into drugs and poverty, despite his famous father.

Ah, it's me - isn't it, and I get two goes. :)

I need a few bowlers/all-rounders, so first up, Harry and Albert Trott,

and next, Arnie and Ryan Sidebottom

Quite what Denis Compton will make of Ryan is anyone's guess - maybe he'll offer him some Brylcreem.

Selections to date:

Hanif Mohammad
Micky Stewart
Alec Stewart
Denis Compton
Nick Compton
Mushtaq Mohammad
Harry Trott
Albert Trott
Arnie Sidebottom
Ryan Sidebottom
Pedro Collins
Fidel Edwards

Hmmm ... another batter needed I reckon.

Can't really delay a keeper any longer. With my middle order I think I can go for a specialist (albeit one who was no mug with the bat) rather than the few extra runs another couple of possibles might score me. Rod & Daniel Marsh.

1) GR Marsh
2) SE Marsh
3) RT Ponting
4) ME Waugh
5) GSA Sobers

7) CL Cairns

Damn. Thought Rod Marsh and Dan Marsh would fly under the radar.

Also lol at the Qadir's.

You'll have to forgive my ignorance, but I haven't heard of either of them. Pakistan players from the old days?
Typos itt. Abdul Qadir is the father. Imran is related to both of the players i meant to pick, but is known best for being Abdul Qadir's son, rather than being goo at cricket.

Note the exquisite symmetry of the fertang selections - I plan to bust that for my last selection but for now I need a keeper so I'll pick two - father and son Alan and James Knott - but which one to put in the final XI?

Sorry Fred, your 24 hours have just ticked over.

But judging by your selections I hardly see you taking Brett Lee and his useful all-rounder brother Shane Lee.

Brett Lee was one of the few strike bowlers left. Not the worst selection though. He will fit into this lineup quite nicely, adds some depth to the tail-end too.

Shane will sit on the bench.

Still not decided which way I will go with my last selection. I have set it up for an all-rounder, but I will be quite happy with a quality bat who can assist Viv Richards in sending afew overs down. Interesting decision.

Team so far

1 Gary Kirsten
2 Peter Kirsten
3 Andy Flower (WK)
4 Viv Richards
5 Clive Lloyd (C)

Now for the last one - I suggest we change the order by having a test of skill - I suggest a nearest the pin type question (eg what will be the first innings score in the Chennai/Rajasthan game on Thursday) with the winner going first, the second best going next etc etc
