Moses is clearly special, but Whyte is not a test to anyone in 2025, absolutely washed.

Ignoring the chat about sport washing, that was a card that needed to be in the UK , just no atmosphere whatsoever and yet again crap pacing.

Parker next most likely for the young man.
Its a very interesting fight, Itauma could rule the division in a few years, but the question is can he take a punch and what's the gas tank like?

Parker isn't invincible , but I actually would make him fav if they were to fight in a few months, as ultimately what is Moses best win? A washed Whyte and maybe Mc Kean? Not exactly studs either.

Don't think his camp is interested to stepping up to the Parker/Kabayel/Dubois level quite yet. I think they want a couple more development fights first - Jermaine Franklin was a name thrown out by Itauma as a possibility. Probably aiming for a title challenge in early 2027 if I had to guess.

Franklin would give him rounds which he needs. The likes of Hrgovic and even Chisora would not be a bad idea either.

If Usyk vacates, then Itauma should fight for the WBO title next. Parker would be upgraded and Itauma is number 1 with the WBO, is favored by Turki and is Queensberry's number one heavyweight.

Franklin's has had two fights since AJ and it would be coming on 2 and half years since he was in there with a live one. Hrgovic is a good fight though, it’s a step up, and he will give Itauma some rounds potentially before a British stoppage. No questions on Hrgovic’s chin, Dubois didn’t put him down and Adeleye, who can really punch, lit him up in the 8th yesterday, and he was still standing. However, he is slow, statuesque and Itauma throws considerably more than both Dubois and Adeleye. The volume, Hrgovic’s no defense and liability to cut would scare a ref.

Good fight IMO.

I have doubted Fabio Wardley every step of the way but the reality is that power matters in the heavyweight division moreso than any other. Wins over Justis Huni, David Adeleye and Fraser Clarke look pretty good.

People bring up Huni dominating that fight but 34 year old Joseph Parker is nowhere near as fast as Huni is now, and even at his peak speed he never really had fast feet the way Huni does. I don't think the comparison holds.

Parker has become quite overrated recently, and to me he looks like he is becoming chinny. None of his recent wins have aged well. Wilder at the time that he fought Parker was arguably not an elite heavyweight. Zhang is very good but has clear weaknesses where simply taking him past 6 rounds should be an easy win for any top heavyweight. Bakole on 1 day's notice doesn't mean anything, and even with a full camp he was easily outboxed by Ajagba, who is not really an elite heavyweight.

That's not to say I disagree with Parker's ranking because after all on paper he has got the wins. Just with the eye test I think he is ripe for the picking.

excellent fight, I don't think Wardley is that special, but I think he will find Parker and finish him towards the end of the fight.

Yeah...young Parker's stand out skills were hand speed and a good chin. His hand speed is not quite what it was and I totally agree his chin is now in the "dodgy" category despite him still carrying a reputation for an iron chin.

It seems like his "improvements" basically come down to him getting bigger and stronger and older and wiser. "Bigger and stronger" seems objectively stupid and the only evidence is a single shot he landed on a 300lb Bakole. All he really proved against Wilder and Zhang was that, by implementing some pretty basic footwork and feinting, he could outwork a guy with a terrible gas tank and a guy who can't box and had become scared to throw. He basically got touched twice in those fights and went down both times.

None of that makes me confident against anyone who is tough and is prepared to let his hands go. Parker doesn't defend himself well enough to avoid getting touched, he doesn't have the chin to withstand a monster puncher, and I have little confidence he has the punching power to stop Wardley - although that might be his best chance.

Of course, the hope is that he will simply beat Wardley up because he's a level or two better as a boxer. That was also the hope a lot of people had when he fought the likes of Whyte, Joyce and even Chisora, but he's never really been able to consistently exploit any advantages he may have in skill or handspeed against willing opposition.

I don't know if I entirely buy Parker being chinny. Zhang has knocked down every opponent he's fought, and Parker didn't appear badly hurt on either occasion. Still, it's certainly reasonable to assume that the Joyce fight caused lasting damage, so I guess we'll see.

Will be interesting to see what weight Parker comes in at for this. He was talking about slimming down for his next fight after the Bakole win - though that may well have been with the idea of fighting Usyk next. Either way, him fighting at 260+ is still bloody stupid.

I actually think Parker will probably win, but that's probably because my expectations for him have been overly low for so long that I'm now over-correcting.
