I wouldn't mind a medium pacer in the Australian attack. You've already got the 2 Pat's. Come on Neser.

If this wasn't so sad it would be funny.

Pace bowling is the one area that Australia has pretty much locked in with Cummins, Starc, Hazlewood and Pattinson, so let's get the English to prepare a green top to suit the pacers to throw it open to random selection, never mind screw the batsmen lol

Bird may not make it into SA's team and maybe even England's. Pakistan and India will take him with both hands though. As will the rest.

Why don't they arrange short term contracts for the blokes who don't make the squad, so they can simply get them in if required? In any event, the absence of Bertus and Dermo Sabba Abbott is being keenly felt.

Looks like Labushagne's run of form in England isn't just a reflection of potentially poor bowling. Maybe his game is well suited to the conditions. He does play quite late from what I remember of him. He'd have to be favourite to make the squad now. The good news here is Handscomb did nothing to press his claims, so that's a positive.

What a pointless exercise. Are they going to have centre wicket practice otherwise indistinguishable from the match to fill up the wasted one-and-a-half days that seems likely to eventuate?
