Team Challenge, Day 3

There are 13 players playing in the current Test, 8 for England, 5 for Australia, who also played in the first Test of the last Ashes series.

Simon Katich
Shane Watson
Ricky Ponting
Michael Clarke
Michael Hussey
Marcuss North
Brad Haddin
Mitchell Johnson
Peter Siddle

Ben Hilfenhaus
Xavier Doherty

Andrew Strauss
Alastair Cook
Jonathan Trott
Kevin Pietersen

Paul Collingwood
Ian Bell
Matt Prior
Stuart Broad
Graeme Swann

Steven Finn
James Anderson

Both sides managed to correctly name 12 of the 13, the English blokes and blokettes neglecting to name Michael Clarke whilst none of the Australian contingent named James Anderson.

So 1 point each.

Same rules as before, this time, we're looking for bowlers to have taken a 5-for in an Ashes Test at the Gabba.

Can't believe I won and I haven't been googling/cricinfoing to get my answers. Latest team question a right **** and I guessed a couple.

Great stuff GF, good fun this.

And in honour of England's tragic efforts in this Test, the day 5 bonus question is name a year in which an Ashes Test has been played at the Gabba where one (or more) innings has ended with the batting side having been all out for 200 or less.

Usual rules, 5 guesses per person, answers to ashespubquiz@hotmail.co.uk

Get the sledging in early

New round in the Ashes Pub Quiz. This is an individual round, with the best individuals scoring points for their respective teams.

Once again, in the spirit of the quiz, I'd ask people to refrain from googling.

The aim of this round is to identify the players involved in the following sledges/exchanges. We are looking for the sledger, the victim/responder, and anyone else who might have been involved. Scoring is a simple 1 point per player identified. Each question display the number of points available.

For example, "Put a Mars Bar on a good length, that should do it." (3)

The players involved here are Ian Healy (sledger), Arjuna Ranatunga (victim), and Shane Warne (who Healy was talking to).

In the event of a tie, then the wittiest answer to the tiebreaker (judged by yours truly) will win the points.

1. "You're a ****ing cheat."
"When in Rome, dear boy!" (2)

2. "You can't bat"
"We make a fine pair. I can't bat and you can't bowl." (2)

3. "Why are you batting so slowly?"
"I'm waiting for the pace of the wicket to change"
"Good god man, it's changed 3 times since you've been in!" (2)

4. "You got an MBE, right? For scoring 7 at the Oval? That's embarassing." (2)

5. "Mate, what are you doing out here? There's no way you're good enough to play for England."
"Maybe not, but at least I'm the best player in my own family." (2)

6. "Look, I don't mind the others chirping at me but you're just the bus driver of this team." (2)

7. "Don't bother shutting it (the gate on the boundary fence) son, you won't be in long enough." (1)

8. "Field at silly point. I want you right under his nose."
"That could be anywhere within a 3 mile radius." (4)

9. "Mate, if you just turn the bat over, you'll find the instructions on the back." (2)

10. "Right, which one of you bastards called this bastard a bastard?" (2)

Tiebreak Question
How would you welcome Michael Clarke to the wicket at Adelaide?

Once again, all answers to ashespubquiz@hotmail.co.uk Deadline is the start of play for the 2nd Test.
