Ascending batting average draft (tests)

Line and Length

Cricketer Of The Year
Thanks h-hurricane and Fuller Pilch. I decided to go in pursuit of Bradman after someone was critical of my choice of spinner. After that it became in exercise in number crunching and finding players who fitted those numbers.

I'm more than happy with the batting support for The Don. The line-up is flexible with the option of opening with Edrich (who normally went in at 3, Bradman's spot, and letting Stewart bat in the middle order. A possible order would be:

C.Gayle 6
A.Stewart (w/k)
D.Bradman (c)
B.Edrich 7
G.Viswanath
S.Ganguly 8
B.D'Oliviera 5
A.Davidson 3
N.Lyon 4
F.Tyson 1
G.McGrath 2

With that pace attack and The Don at 3, the rest only need to do a job so to speak. And that they can do very well.

Whatever it takes!!!
Its a great side, L&L. But I won't open with the keeper. You can move GRV to 4. Stewart batted 5 when he was keeping for England and he is ace against the new ball, so he can do a job for your side at 6 or 7 and face up to the second new ball.

My alternative line-is:

C.Gayle 6
B.Edrich 7
D.Bradman (c)
G.Viswanath
S.Ganguly 8
A.Stewart (w/k)
B.D'Oliviera 5
A.Davidson 3
N.Lyon 4
F.Tyson 1
G.McGrath 2
That'd probably get more votes. People dont like seeing Stewart opening and keeping as he rarely did both

Had my eyes set on Crowe. But with decimal point difference in averages of Crowe and my last pick it was going to be hard to get prized pick like him.

Yeah i always think of Crowe as a guy with reputation better than his average so had been eyeing him off for sometime

Obviously a number jockeying for a couple of prized selections. The only average above 50 came as a 9th pick. It certainly has been an entertaining draft.
