Fitting that they got him by targeting the top of off. They gave away more runs than they needed to by messing around with their lines and lengths in response to his injury.

With the amount of movement that's been on show for most of the game so far, 350 is a total Bumrah et al would be very happy to bowl at, so I don't see why England are favourites at all
weather, the clouds are to dissapear in 30 minutes from now.

Yeah you’re rarely ever out of the game when you make 350 in the first innings, least of all when it’s doing as much as it has today

Whatever it takes!!!
Him being able to get it out of the way is a big deal! Means he can open his stance up and hit with power. I thought it would be full Maxwell and he'd just have to stand there and swing without moving his feet at all.
Yeah but that is just a factor of where he has broken his foot, not whether its actually broken.

That Pant injury shifted the momentum massively in England's favour imo.

Psychologically, that was a huge blow for India.

358 is a really good effort. If conditions don't change England will need to bat really well (or India to bowl really badly) to match it.

A good review.

Not a great total for India but it at least gives their bowlers something to bowl at.
I think India will take it, at this point. England have a good batting lineup, but they are playing with a number of passengers at the moment. India will just need to bowl well and, more importantly, take catches.

How many runs is that worth?
We were looking at a 400+ total if not. India were cruising while Sai and Pant were there in the middle.

Also with an injured Pant, we might not be able to score as quickly in the 2nd innings as we'd like to. He's a game changer. This is a massive blow unless India do something extraordinary with the ball when England come out to bat.

It is probably a little harsh to be judging Archer during his 2nd test back, but he clearly needs to be able to move the ball away from right-handers better than at present. That imbalance between left and right is a bit of an issue for him.

I'm completely baffled by this, are you under the impression that 400 is par? Because I strongly, strongly disagree.
