4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

Kamboj bowls the kind of (no) pace that gives him zero margin for error. The kind of bowler that Bazball was made for. They're soon going to start coming down the wicket to him.
Yeah unfortunately pace snobbery at Test level is basically correct; you have to have truly exceptional accuracy and skill to make it at Test level at that pace.

Think Duckett, er, doesn't quite rate this guy. Has tried to hit him for four almost every ball after the first two.

Whatever it takes!!!
You guys are writing him off way too soon here. Its his first over and whatever his release pace is, it does seem like he was hitting the bat faster than Duckett expected and as of now, even Bumrah is not bowling all that quick, so maybe there is something in the conditions, and maybe bowling into the wind etc. going on. He may well be too slow for tests but this is way too early to call it and as I said, release speed is not the be-all end-all at least IMO.

I don't think you have to be express by any means but personally I do feel that <130km/h is simply too slow in the vast majority of instances (it's why there are a few Shield bully bowlers who I don't really want picked for Aus, so I'm consistent about this).

High 130s/low 140s really seems to be the sweet spot in Tests.

Bumrah might be a bit cooked at this stage in the series, but regardless, his action will mean that the batter has less reaction time than an ordinary bowler bowling at the same pace

True, but there are ways bowlers can be useful in the low 80s mph mark too. Especially in England. And he is not exactly first choice anyways. We will see how things go, I guess.

looks like the sort of guy who might bag 2/3 5-fers in his first 5 tests and then once there is plenty of video footage of him, gets absolutely rinsed for the remainder of his test career.

Pretty poor couple of overs from Kambhoj

Maybe nerves of playing his very first match might have got to him

It’s gotta be nerves, don’t think he’d have an FC record like that bowling this dross.

Looks like Bumrah has caught that bug too. 3 friendly leg stump half volleys with the field up is basically every opener's dream.

Think we’ve had a lot of bowlers who we’ve tried to mould into fast bowlers who would have been better served being that bit slower (Anderson very much the reverse!)
