Hopefully Bumrah and Siraj remember from the last game they can actually hang around for a bit if they apply themselves.
Don't see what's the point in this situation though. Pant's not in any shape to hit out and we're the ones who have to make the plays in this game. It's the one time they should chance their arms and hope it comes off.

Kinda funny how Bumrah hunches forward a bit in batsman’s attire and helmet. Looks like a different man than the bowler with an intimidating aura he is otherwise.

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah people worried about Pant slowing him down, but as far as I could tell this just seems to be how he basically always bats. Has been very, very passive on most occasions I've watched him.
He has the same problems with his batting Jadeja seemed to have till about 2023. Tempo. And ability to get singles at least once every 5 or 6 balls in between whatever boundary shots you have.

Just eyeballing his stats on cricinfo, he strikes at 45 in Tests and FC cricket so this just seems to be what he is; a fundamentally defensive, watchful player not particularly interested in moving up or down the gears

Honestly, he's not moving that badly. Highly restricted but more mobile than Maxwell during the 200, for instance
I dont think its the same area that is injured, though? And he is not able to put any weight on his front foot. He is just sorta placing it there or getting it out of the way and batting. And the fracture news was confirmed by the hospital sources, I thought?

They said he needs 6-8 weeks to recover. Has to be a break of some kind if that's true.
There be some good **** in those painkilling injections then. I really don't want to minimise how much pain he's in but he's really not looking anywhere near as bad as he I thought he would.

He's even punched one off the front foot! Exactly the sort of shot I'd have thought impossible.

Him being able to get it out of the way is a big deal! Means he can open his stance up and hit with power. I thought it would be full Maxwell and he'd just have to stand there and swing without moving his feet at all.
