2nd Test at Adelaide - 16 to 20 Dec

Putting aside ‘Jos’ not being a name for a moment, I’ve surely seen many worse drops. Feel like Kamran Akmal can contribute several. Ross Taylor at the 2011 WC for one.

Well, I'd have preferred 40 more runs but will take that day. Harris failed as expected, Warner looked terrible but batted well before his brain detonated. Marnusbatted well at times though is very lucky to be there, but there he is, and Smith still is too, somehow. Anderson bowled well enough without getting the batsmen to commit on the front foot enough, Broad varied between good and bad, Woakes was completely unmemorable as usual. Robinson bowled far too short and very much wasted his opportunities. The short ball strategy form Stokes was interesting but expensive. England really missed a specialist spinner on a pitch that had some turn and bounce, Root was not accurate enough and too expensive despite adopting a leg side strategy that frustrated but rarely threatened the edges of the bat.

Buttler's second drop of Labuschagne is the worst I can recall from eleven years watching test matches, of ones I have seen live. Should mention that I do not clearly recall any of Akmal's from 09/10, though I was aware of his reputation even then and may have seen a few.
nah it’s nowhere near as bad as denly’s

i seem to remember lyon dropping a c&b chance off rahane at the mcg in 2014 (?) too which a literal child would have caught

If you actually read the comment it would be nice.

Brendon McCullum at the 2003 WC too, I think? When Bond had India wobbling early in what then became an easy chase.

Haha I just realized Broad did the exact same both hands over his mouth thing here as he did after the Stokes catch in the 60 allout game

Get Foakes in FFS. How is he not in the team?

That last drop was the worst I've seen in years.

yeah this is the one

79.3 Lyon to Rahane, no run
Dropped by the bowler! This is as easy as it can be. No pace on that ball, lobbed up towards his face and he fluffs it completely. Have seen that shot from Rahane before, getting it off the inside half as he looks to drive. What a let-off!

This is my favourite drop but yeah we all know he wasnt exactly kicking himself he didn't take it. It's like 3 joe denlys in quick succession.

It had shades of Healy’s off Lara in the WI in 99 which signalled he’d lost it. Similar sort of late lunge at the ball.
