Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Gautum Gambhir (Ind) (4154 @42)
Mohammed Hafeez (Pak) (3652 @38)
Jonathan Trott (Eng) (3835 @44)
Ian Bell (Eng) (7727 @43)
Jacques Rudolf (SA) (2622 @35)
Mahmadullah (Ban) (2764 @32, 43w @45)
Tatenda Taibu+* (Zim) (1536 @30)
Ravindra Jadeja (Ind) (1869 @35, 213w @25)
Stuart Clark (Aus) (94w @24)
Neil Wagner (NZ) (206w @27)
Josh Hazlewood (Aus) (195w @26)

I'm happy enough with my side. Solid but unspectacular batting but with one of the strongest attacks in the game. One of the top spinners in the era in Jadeja, two gun opening bowlers in Hazlewood and Clark and the second best change bowler in Wagner (behind only Cummins). Mahmadullah provides extra bowling support if need be as well.

On the batting side we have two competent openers in Gambhir and Hafeez. The backbone of the batting is the English duo of Trott and Bell who were both quite successful in their day. The lower middle order is Rudolf who was ok and Mahmadullah who was one of the better all round Bangladeshi players for a long time.

My captain and keeper is Taibu who was one of the best Zimbabwe cricketers in the era and if raised in any other country would likely have gone on to have a longer and more successful career, having lost years to Zimbabwe politics. Jadeja batting at 8 rounds out any weaknesses in the lower middle order.

Nobody from Sri Lanka or the West Indies but the players worth picking from these nations were snapped up early, or in the case of Darren Bravo, literally one selection before I was going to pick him.

All in all I'm happy with the side but in retrospect I'd have gone for a Michael Clarke or someone earlier, though by the time my first pick rolled around the best batsmen and choice pace bowlers of the era were all gone.

Whatever it takes!!!
Mayank Agarwal
Phil Hughes
Joe Root ©
AB De Villiers
Kusal Perera (wk)
Roston Chase
Sean Williams (vc)
Yasir Shah
Mitch Starc
Ishant Sharma
Jofra Archer

Think this is a very good side to be honest. Starc and Archer to breathe fire with the new ball, Ishant to hold it together with pace, combined with swing and seam where available and enforcer lengths where its not. Yasir, Chase, Sean Williams and Root can provide all the spin necessary with Yasir and Chase taking the lead. Batting is all class with enough left handers thrown in to mess bowling line ups around the world. Front foot, Back foot, seam, spin, pace, reverse swing and batsmen who can handle it all.

I'm not going to say I'm entirely happy with this line-up. My plans went out the window when I missed my turn and the two Kiwi openers were snapped up. Nevertheless, I have a competent team that includes some fine players. The team bats down to # 7 to cover the tail. Bumrah is a penetrating opening bowler with Roach and Tremlett offering good reliable support. Ojha is an attacking left arm spinner with over 100 Test wickets to his name while Watson and Oram add variety.

An excellent top 7, bowling will be reliant on Steyn but at least the other 4 bowlers are all good wicket takers
