Alastair Cook steps down as England captain

Interviewing captaincy candidates is a fool proof plan that never resulted in problems. Other than Rossco and McCullum of course. Ffs make a decision yourselves without a public parade.

Alastair Cook steps down as England captain

Interesting. It would have been ballsy. Cook isn't a strong enough character or personality to have stood up to the ECB in 2014 imo. I think he did what he believed was best for the overall team atmosphere at the time by not saying anything publicly. Who knows what he said behind closed doors...

    *Official* Pro-Wrestling Thread II

Haha I love that that video played Jim Cornette's spray about Brawl for All, heard it before. It really was a stupid stupid idea. I don't get the hate for the Ministry Undertaker in his video. It was fun.

Awesome that Cook is calling out the ECB for its **** handling of the KP saga. Fair play.

The ATG Teams General arguing/discussing thread

All 3 are comparable. Saying one is definitely better than the other very difficult. Doesn't seem controversial to pick one. Ganguly 98-2000 was a great peak though. edit: @HB

The ATG Teams General arguing/discussing thread

Just took a look. Guptil and Sharma have such a similar ODI record. Add that both of them stink up tests too, and the only thing splitting them stats wise is their amount of toes.

Your favourite and least favourite batting collapses

Saha sucked in Adelaide but Vijay missing a half tracker on 99 and getting LBW, and Rahane getting jibbed by a **** umpiring decision all caused that collapse. Stinks.

***Official*** Australia vs New Zealand ODIs 2016/17

This is not true. Every tri-series and ODI bilateral series felt like life and death in the late 90s and early 2000s, and teams always played their best teams. There was no resting, there was no rotation. Winning a tri-series in Australia was a huge deal. Now best players are often rested in...

They can tell Channel 10 that. But they can also get paid a bucket load less. Their choice. If you want the dollars, the crowds and all that goes with the hit and giggle, you have to also join in. That involves being interviewed right after you get out, being mic'd up etc.

Your favourite and least favourite batting collapses

yep Adelaide 14 and Capetown 2006 are the other two that stink. They're my top 3. Good work OS. Honorable mention is this other one that is woeful is vs Eng: http://www.cricketweb.net/forum/cricket-chat/73465-your-favourite-least-favourite-batting-collapses.html#post3821068 0-86 to all out...

Your favourite and least favourite batting collapses

Collapses suck as a fan, but for me, letting the tail get away is more gut-wrenching. Generally a collapse has some aspect of awesome bowling involved. Tailender batting and recovering a score sometimes involves good batting, but generally is just woeful bowling plans / captains becoming idiots...
