*Official* New Zealand Domestic Cricket Season 2012/2013

Just caught today's scores. Can anyone tell me if Nick Beard is going to be playing again soon. Today was the sort of day he tended to perform pretty well in the past couple of seasons and it looks like Otago are missing him. And what's Sodhi like? I've never seen him bowl. Serious prospect:?

Cameron... but it's hard to make a bad pick from that selection. (Though Irvine is pushing it a bit....)

Procter and Tayfield. (Would have had Pollock S opening the bowling mind...)

To be fair to Chawla, he obviously didn't bowl two full-tosses every over to take the pitch out of the equation like Tahir...

Michael Vaughan and Chris Adams debuted together, and met each other at the crease with the score on 2-4 (two runs, four wickets).

Ross Taylor likely to be shafted from the captaincy?

It seems weird to me that if Taylor's relationship with his team-mates was so bad, how come we won two away tests in the past 12 months? And how come the bowling unit has generally performed really well while the batting has been woeful? The captain can do sweet f.a about how the other...

Are India THAT terrible? They did see off NZ fairly comfortably, and NZ promptly went and won a test in Sri Lanka. The drop from number one has been fast, and the phasing out of the aging batting stars has been managed pretty terribly. But they're still a middling test side. A while back...

My thought exactly. Mishra is a pretty decent bat so if he's the next spinner in line (big if) then Ashwin-Dhoni-Mishra isn't the worst lower order.

He'd better hurry up if he wants to do it in this innings as well..

**Official** New Zealand in South Africa

Since that series six and a half years ago, Franklin's scored 325 runs for 17 times out. This is at the time he's being picked primarily as a batsmen. I know he's been in and out of the side a lot but still, that's nowhere near enough. So yes, I probably do think Fulton would do better...

I don't disagree that this is a likely line-up, but what the f... has Franklin done to deserve a spot? Or is it his known strong footwork against good fast bowling that gets him into the side?? :-O

Ross Taylor likely to be shafted from the captaincy?

Nice summary of the previous 36 pages of this thread. Not often we find so many folk pretty much unanimous about something. And the media seem to be on the same wavelength (I watched The Crowd Goes Wild on Prime specifically to see their take on this... typically blunt). Also similar...

I asked this elsewhere but didn't get a response : Is Ryan Harris ever going to play another test match? How about Bollinger?

Why is Bradman the greatest ever?

Bradman's last innings... second ball... Hollies bowls a perfect googly and either a) Bradman is bowled... but the umpire calls for some assistance from the onfield sketch artist. After a 10 minutes wait while the sketch artist completes his drawing, the umpire sees that Hollies in fact had...

Why is Bradman the greatest ever?

And yet England generally thrashed India, New Zealand, South Africa and the West Indies whenever they played them in that era. Strange definition of minnow you have.

***Official*** South Africa in Australia 2012

Questions from a non-Aussie : Will Ryan Harris ever play another test? Ditto Doug Bollinger? From what I've seen, these two plus Pattinson are the best bowlers in Australia when fit though I'm going back a wee way in Bollinger's case. So the current line-up could be called the third choice...
