*Official* New Zealand Domestic Cricket Season 2012/2013

Just got around to watching the Wellington second innings wickets... Ryder.... not sure whether to just laugh, or feel vaguely insulted by it. Lovely yorker from Fuller to clean up one of the tail-enders.

If Guptill continues to be in no form at all, and McCullum is definitely going to bat at 5... who the hell will the selectors pick to open??????????????

Not sure you can have Jackson in that list. Cricinfo lists him as fast-medium, though his Obit rather muddies the waters a bit with : "A right-handed rather fast-medium bowler with a nice easy action and plenty of spin, he kept a good length and often got on a sharp off-break. "

The fact that they've picked Franklin lately tends to make me think that the selectors are keen to have : 5x batsmen 1x wk batsman to bat at 6/7/8 Vettori at 6/7/8 seam allrounder at 6/7/8 3x bowlers Most contributors here seem to believe that 3x seamers + Vettori just isn't enough firepower...

Anyone know if Vettori is going to be playing any time soon? And what do folk think of Ellis for the allrounder / fourth seamer role ahead of Franklin or Munro?

Agree. I think "we turned up" is more realistic than "we fronted up" but as skipper all he can say is that they worked hard off the field but it didn't pay off for them on it, and hopefully the individuals will learn some lessons from playing against such quality opposition.

The top order failing is depressingly predictable. The tail capitulating is understandable given the bowlers they were facing, but still depressingly new. Ffs, even Gillespie smacked the same bowlers around the park last season. Didn't think I'd miss Southee's lower order batting when I heard...

Does anyone know how much these guys were paid to perform like that? Cos I'm pretty sure I'd volunteer to do something not too much worse for about half the price...

Congrats Watling, looked a different game when he's been at the crease. Something to do with having a reasonable technique maybe?

Bloody hell, even Peterson looks unplayable on this.... reckon we might actually have missed Vettori's bowling here.
