    Player Ratings thread

I've read some random ratings all over the internet. To some degree it's not too hard to agree on many players' perfromances. What I really find hard to understand, is why Hazlewood gets very very poor ratings. Gaeme Swann had him on 3,5 out of 10, I think!. I won't advocate he was brilliant...

    ***Official Formula 1 Discussion Thread***

Yeah, it's funny indeed. I've been really into F1 from about 1985 until 2000 or so. Though I've followed things from the sidelines, this year is my comeback year. All due to Max Verstappen of course. Not simply for being Dutch, but mostly for being exceptionally talented. But both McLarens...

*Official* Fifth Test at the Oval

I would disagree, Five tight tests that all eventually swing the same way is more fun. The very very great thing about test cricket is that the momentum can swing form session to session. Well, that's what I like about it! It has only happened once this series, at the very start of it.

*Official* Fifth Test at the Oval

It does point out the difference between Alastair Cook and the Australian batsmen. If any of the Aussie lot would have put up in Cardiff, what Cook did yesterday, and if Cook would have failed to do so yesterday, the Ashes would be in Australian hands right now.

For scoring @46? Or for bringing up fifties in every single test? Not sure what you're up to.....

*Official* Fifth Test at the Oval

I would possibly add Warner, Anderson, Stokes and Moeen.

15 wickets on a 2nd day of a test. On a pitch that was nowhere near a minefield. Not too odd in this series..........

That's that for me. No more Ashes 2015.

*Official* Fifth Test at the Oval

Yup! Just another test that simply does not have it. Unless theses two put up 200 together of course......

Real time it looked not out.

That replay from the side has the ball bearly, if not at all, touching the bail!

It's good to see Siddle back. It just really is!

I can see an umpire doing so, not because he has decided to, but just for common sense. There is a massive burdon on umpires to make the right decision. But once a poor decision is prone to be auto-corected, focus will shift to more important/sensitive issues, without giving it too much thought.

Just a thought: When umpires know they can (and will) check for no-balls upstairs when a wicket falls, it possibly makes sense to not get destracted by paying attention to the landing foot, and simply focus on the ball. Fair enough in test cricket?

*Official* Fifth Test at the Oval

Do umpires simply not pick up the no-balls? Or do they not bother, unless a wicket falls? Serious question!

Moeen at #1 in red ball cricket is imnsho a rotten idea. Hales it is!

*Official* Fifth Test at the Oval

Agreed. A fifty would, rightfully in my opinion, be judged as a no pressure, dead rubber, fair innings. He really needs to be part of two or three partnerships that bring England back into this test. A tough ask, but given his record so far, it's the only thing that justifies his (near) future...

*Official* Fifth Test at the Oval

That was, not fot the first time this series, a very hard to miss no ball.

Truely he is the new Botham then!

And replays showed it wasn't that far of a tiny bat first edge.
