*Official* Fifth Test at the Oval

Possibly he figured the enormous swing would make it eventually miss the leg stump? Personally, when umpiring, I find it hard to judge big late in-swing.

Such a massive inswing. My first idea was it MUST have hit outside off. I can see why most fielders would think so

    Walk or not walk

As un umpire or referee in any sport it is advisable to shut your ears after a big decision for 30 seconds or so. I also think there is absolutely nothing wrong with CALMLY and POLITELY explaining to an umpire why you would disagree.

    Walk or not walk

I would explain the opposing captain I had hit it first, upon which he would reconsider the appeal.

    Most galling Ashes loss

Good call. Another massively underrated performance is Ashley Giles' batting in that match. Especially his 2nd innings. He came in at 9, being 200 runs ahead with 50+ overs left in the day. Not a bad moment to make your career best score.

From a neutral perspective, these Ashes suck

A general answer to this questions lies in Furball's reply: We've seen three matches in a row that were more or less decided (from a neutral persepctive that is a conclusion easier made, tbf) at the close of: -stumps day 1 -tea day 1 -lunch day 1

From a neutral perspective, these Ashes suck

They really do! Yesterday, I returned to Holland from what should have been My Great Ashes Holiday Trip. Normally, me & mrs Stapel go camping in France or Italy. A couple of months ago, my loving wife, fully aware I love to watch cricket, suggested we could go camping in England and watch...

    *Official* 3rd Test at Edgbaston

He did last time, but didn't score any runs..... Even if he has batted at 3 for most of the FC season, I'd prefer him over Lyth.

Alex Hales. I preferred him to Lyth anyway. He's not having the stellar season as 2014, but still pretty good.

An umpire giving it not out, live, on height wouldn't have been laught at.

Yeah, fair enough to review. If only for the possibility for Broad to overstep :D .

It amazes me that he was actually thought of as a thinking cricketer. Not bad for someone who has no clue about cricket. Says something about his amazing talent as well.

It's not particularly worse than his other nonsense, is it?

Was thinking the same! It was easily spotted from the view that had Stokes in front.

Dear mr. Cook, I've spent a small fortune on Day 4 tickets for me and the mississ. Please don't get this over too soon! Kind Regards, Stapel

Judging by the Lord's batting display, the Australian tail is now in  .
