He's twice used Dussey before him. Smth's bowling or batting isn't good enough yet for him to be hanging around for the sake of his fielding.

    Ugh, don't remind me.

No point in giving a skipper a bowler that he won't bowl. We've seen that with Punter often enough. Might as well play Marsh as at least that way if they do select him for the test series, he will have had some more match time.

I find it incredible that Clarke won't bowl Smith at all.

I suspect Clarke is trying to get them all out before the death overs start. But on the other hand, he may have a lot of faith in Johnson.

Both Lee and the Rug can do that, or at least in theory.

I think in general it has been shown that Nielsen's strong point is not planning. It's all the cross bat stuff that looks so foolish. It's fine for Watson to do it, he has to as he has no other recourse against spin, but it won't work for everyone.

Get stitched up against spin in one dayers as well. In that footage of Punter, one of the commentators was talking about how Botha made fools of the Aussies over the summer. must have been 2009 I remember that. It was kind of embarrassing watching them. The thing is the footwork looks gash...

Yep, that's why he's been lamped from pillar to post in first class cricket in England. He does need turning pitches once the batsmen have an idea of him.

Bloody funny that shot of Punter's. It's a Steve Smith special.

How badly do you think the Sris want to win the Onedayers? They could try saving Mendis for the tests instead of giving Punter, Huss and Clarke a look at him. He does seem to get worked out fairly quickly so it might not be worth sending him out for the ODI series. Though it would be...

It's true. I have no idea where the young Aussie batsmen are going to learn to play spin unless they book themselves a gig somewhere else or they are just naturally gifted against it (and I haven't seen one that is). Even in England, they'll face a better variety and quality of slow bowlers than...

Since the Melbourne test of the Ashes, my expectations are kind of gorn, so I don't feel like I get as annoyed as I used to. Except with Johnson. I'll never get used to his utter ****ness when he is having a REALLY bad day.

    The Egotistical/ Self-Important XI

Haddin and Healy - **** all to choose between them for ego maniacal tosspots.

That's the sort of thing Clarke says. 'No, I haven't watched (insert soon to be touring team) I'm just concentrating on my own game'. Good start to the tour for the Lankans. Dilshan must be well chuffed.

No point in playing him against the Indians though was there? They have him sussed now.

Haddin has probably seen enough of him already.

I hope he gets them. It's hilarious how the Aussies just lose the plot against spin.
