Shoaib in new feud with Inzi

It comes as no surprise that there are fresh reports of a clash between Shoaib & Inzi. Apparently after the loss on Saturday night at Wellington, Shoaib told some players of the Pakistan team that they should be prepared for him to take over as captain on their return to Pakistan.

    Hamish Marshall

So is Marshall the real deal? 11 matches, 1 century/4 fifties at an average of 52.12, an excellent SR of 77 also. And he must be saving 10 or 15 runs per match in the field also. He's only played against Pakistan but Shoaib & Sami aren't the easiest bowlers around. 40* against Pollock, Ntini...

Most runs off 1 over in test cricket

Lara has surpassed Craig McMillan for the most overs off 1 over in test cricket..but I was surprised to see how many NZ'landers were at the top of that list: B.C Lara - 28 v Robin Petersen C.D.McMillan - 26 v Younis Khan A.M.E Roberts (W.I) - 25 v Ian Botham B.Sutcliffe/R.W Blair (NZ) - 25 v...

    State Championship

Good start for Canterbury in their match against Wellington. McCullum opened & got them off to a flyer with 76 off just 104 balls...and then Papps the forgotten up & coming opener scored 119. Gary Stead is also batting well on 94*. Auckland v Pakistan will be a great match...Pakistan are going...

    Most sixes hit in tests

http://www-nz.cricket.org/db/STATS/TESTS/BATTING/TRIVIA/BAT_MOST_SIXES_CAREER.html It seems as far as current day cricket players are concerned, Cairns is un-rivaled at the moment...if he manages to start playing tests again, he should be able to surpass Viv Richards.

    Tauqir Zia resigns from PCB

Zia has resigned over the television rights conflict that stopped anyone from seeing the 1st ODI between Pak & NZ. I'd say he was also under pressure after his son Junaid was called up ahead of other players when his records suggested he wasn't that outstanding.

    State Championship: Round One

Well not surprisingly it was the Academy players who shone on Day One: Canterbury v Otago: Peter Fulton 114, Neil Broom 53 & Jeff Wilson took 3/60 for Otago. Auckland v Northern: Nick Horsley 42, Grant Robinson 40, Andre Adams 5-40, Kyle Mills 3-33 Wellington v Central: No batting...

    Good news for NZ fans

Sky TV WILL be showing all 5 ODI's in Pakistan LIVE after there was some doubt. Im sure we will probably get a toweling in this series, but it'll be good to watch players like Cumming, Walker & Mason to see whether they can foot it at international level.

    The Wilkinson factor

I decided to look at results of English fixtures against the top 4 other international sides in rugby, starting from November 24th 2001. I got all these results from planetrugby.com & I thought it was time to find out just how much a factor Wilkinson is to England and here are the results...

    Richard Sherlock

I noticed a match report of the NZ Academy against Central Districts..Richard Sherlock took 9 wickets in the match & bowled quicker than Bond at times (admittedly Bond is still not 100%) The pitch was also a green-seamer, but it was good to see Jesse Ryder make some good scores on a tough...

    Headbutting incident

I've read in an article that a batsmen in the lower grades of the Christchurch cricket competition head-butted a fielder and then another fielder threw a punch at him. I guess Tamara should know a little more about this ridiculous piece of behaviour..but then again if its grade 5 or 6, its not...

    Pick NZ 'A' team

I know NZ 'A' don't kick off their series against Sri Lanka 'A' series until Feb but I thought it would be interesting to see who everyone picks now & then see what the squad turns out to be next year. This is obviously for NZ'landers but anyone else is welcome to have a go. Squad of 14 in...
