Looking at it he has to either stay at Newcastle or move to Liverpool. Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester Utd and City have all spent big this summer and won't sign another striker and apart from PSG no other European club can afford the fee and he surely won't ruin his career and move to Saudi.

Liverpool or bust, they will certainly be selling the likes of Elliott now to finance it though after the amount they have spent

Apparently we are trying to get Eze in quickly and then we’re ready to roll with some minor outgoings

The only move available to him now is Liverpool. There's next to no chance he's going to Saudi.

From the players perspective it makes sense to force it while a big club is willing and ready to pull the trigger. There's no guarantee he'll still be a hot commodity next summer; injuries happen, other potential talents will emerge and Ekitike could easily be a hit. No one outside of England and Saudi can afford him except PSG, and they have their attack sorted.

As you say, the other realistic sides in England don't have a need for him. All this coincides with Newcastle now in talks for Sesko. I think it is in the interests of all parties to make these deal happen now.

Eze would be your best signing this window imo. I think he's a bit overrated on the left wing but there's no doubt he's a quality central attacking mid - Odegaard hasn't been himself for a little while so the competition for spots may fire him back to his best. The more options you have on the bench that aren't Trossard/Sterling types the better.

BARNES OUT
Liverpool with Isak is gg's man would be the first season in a while where I had no hope.

Only thing I am praying on is (I know they spent loads on them but...) Kerkez and Frimpong the only two I think could be got at if they play a back 4. Especially Frimpong - but Slot hasn't given us a reason to doubt him yet so it's only a sliver.

EDIT: If you saw that - no you didn't.

Nice try but don't put that sort of pressure on us. Arsenal are and will continue to be favourites.

Not what the bookmakers say.

Liverpool 7-4, Arsenal 9-4, City 3-1.

Personally, think 7-4 Liverpool is quite good value. If they won it by 10 last year and have now strengthened and got rid of a difficult character, surely they should be odds on?

Bit harsh to call Diaz difficult, he was quite good last season. Heitinga is probably the bigger loss, I hope he does well at Ajax

Getting 75m for Diaz at 28yo is obscenely good business. No wonder Liverpool can buy all the strikers everyone wants on top of Wirtz, they’ve been crushing it at outgoings for years.
It amazes me that clubs do business with them when they rip every **** off who buys their cast offs.

Whoever got £3m out of us for Ben Davies should be doing time for robbery.

We have given them quite a bit of money the last couple of years. One a total success already and confident Kelleher will be. Not seen much from Carvalho yet but pretty sure that will change.

Chelsea getting their money back for Felix is far more irritating.

Yeah it's a great deal for us. I love Lucho as a player but he's had four seasons at the club now and only delivered in one. He was making too much noise around his wages and contract so best to move on now and replace him while his value has peaked. He's not quite over the hill like Mane was when he went to Bayern so I expect Diaz to do well in Bundesliga.

I still think the funniest sale we ever made was Jordan Ibe. To this day I have no idea why Bournemouth went after him. Brewster isn't far behind but still has time to reach his potential, albeit unlikely.

Carvalho and Kelleher will end up good signings, likely so will Elliott, Doak and Morton whenever they leave.
