Who?Fuller Pilch turning the wtc final thread in to a discussion about the Nz bowling attack and the pending return of J Jamieson
Now I can't say I did not see that coming

Playing devils advocate here. He's not been great in the few away tests he's played, no? Don't think he's done great in county when he's played during his late career resurgence either. He averages 17 in tests and 23 in fc cricket
Should be the 2nd bowler picked for Australia which has by far the best attack
iirc he played a single match and bowled 13 overs.Playing devils advocate here. He's not been great in the few away tests he's played, no? Don't think he's done great in county when he's played during his late career resurgence either.

Yeah here’s the scorecard from his single county match. Not gonna hold this one against him tbh.Playing devils advocate here. He's not been great in the few away tests he's played, no? Don't think he's done great in county when he's played during his late career resurgence either.
4 day match - 150 run marginLOL that's a ridiculous scorecard
Edit: BTW what's with the follow on there?
Boland has also taken only 7 wkts @ 52.85 in the 4 Tests he played outside Australia. I'd take a fit Haze over him any dayHe averages 17 in tests and 23 in fc cricket

(In England he has 7 wkts @ 48.00 in 3 Tests)
There are 2 England bowlers in his team with no wickets at a higher rpo than him, so I am assuming it was slightly batter friendly. The expert.

You'll still get dicked here next time you tour though, more for psychological reasons than anything else.Cummins, Hazlewood and Lyon are as good or better than him. They understandably pick Starc for pace, left arm, and batting.
If NZ gets Jamieson fit we will have the best attack. Henry, WOR, KJ + 1/2 > Australia
There is also an England bowler who made an unbeaten ton at #3 on the last day as a nightwatchman. There are 2 England bowlers in his team with no wickets at a higher rpo than him, so I am assuming it was slightly batter friendly.
I don't think McDonald pushed that case all that hard though so I won't write too much in to it. He did say that they are not moving Smith pretty solidly (which is a good thing) and I can't see Marnus getting the axe for Konstas so the most likely slot for Green is 3. I'd like to see how that goes tbhMust say I absolutely hate the most recent interview McDonald has done on possible team selection. Genuinely reads to me like the possibility of Cameron Green being forced to open is still a live one which is just utterly atrocious thinking in every single conceivable way shape and form.
Frankly it's just disturbing that such an idea hasn't been dismissed outright, he's never done the job before and absolutely nothing to me suggests he is particularly suited to such a role ever. Even from what I have seen of this country stint Green has still looked a genuinely poor starter, a gun when he gets through that obviously, but to have that issue in the first place is very much not a trait you want at the top of the order. It's not that I don't rate him like some others, think he has what it takes as a middle order player but very much do not want to jeopardise that by throwing him into a role he is entirely ill equipped for.
Don't love the chat of Webster being omitted either, think the extra overs he can provide make him far more valuable as a 6 than Inglis, especially as I rate the level of batting between them as pretty much linear
Don't hate this honestly. Marnus opening and Green at three aren't things I love in of themselves, but most of the alternatives I have heard are definitely worseI don't think McDonald pushed that case all that hard though so I won't write too much in to it. Maharaj batting behind Rabada is a crime worse than genocideIf we went this option, it would really be the deepest batting unit since the 90s for us.
7. Mulder
8. Bosch
9. Jansen
10. Rabada
11. Maharaj
Only way is they feel Mulder can do Pato's role (11 wickets at 43 in Div 2) but like with Bedders that experience of Lords and it's idiosyncrasies can't be underestimated.
With the way Maharaj has been batting recently it is fully deserved...Maharaj batting behind Rabada is a crime worse than genocide
