yeah but the problem was that sipley copped an (accidental) shoulder to the head which sent him one way no returns to fairy land, and that’s what caused him to go horizontal and “hip drop”

he returned after that sin bin lol so it didn’t exactly send him to fairy land, and I mean it resulted in a broken ankle so based on the precedent that has been set, it had to be a sin bin (accident or not)

also - the Wighton one a few weeks ago was far more controversial than this one

Haha this dawned on me later! I was doing something and recalled them talking about a hip drop in the paper the next day and went "ohhhhh....that makes more sense!".

ngl i do feel a bit dirty going in to bat for a manly player all things considered, but:
yeah it's so cringe how they do this imho, i hatehate the policing of stuff based on the outcome and not the actions of the player - especially in a case like this where sipley (imho!) did not have control of what he was doing, not because of recklessness or whatever but bc he was knocked out! and that's what separates this one for me like, it's not just that it was an accident, but he was properly out from the point he copped the shoulder imho
