**Official** English Football Season 2023/24

I don’t think he should stay in the summer. You can say all kinds of stuff in mitigation and there are bigger problems to fix first. But he’s very, very obviously not doing a good job.
If you sack him then I don’t think you can get a manager that will have expectations of the players or that has a very specific style requiring players that match it. That just hasn’t worked.

Might as well hire someone who can adjust to the talent and grind out a CL spot while you clean house. Don’t expect either to happen.

A decade after Alex and we are still going backwards. Who’s the current Ron Atkinson equivalent?

funnily enough i think Ten Hag should be Bayern’s next manager due to his history there and i think he would be a great hire by them compared to RDZ or even Nagelsmann

They should let the new DoF come up with a plan for how best to build the team, and then let him pick a manager as part of that. There’s a chance they stick with ETH because they’re not big fans of whoever’s available, it saves paying him off, and he’s hardly the worst manager out there.

But they’ve looked like one of the worst coached teams in the league all season. Plan A should be to find a replacement.

Unfortunately the buck stops at the manager, lost in the 2nd rd of the coca cola cup to Newcastle reserves, only 4 points in a very handy champions league group and sixth in the premier league with no chance of Champions league football. Yeah their is mitigating circumstances such as injuries but the team has looked a mess all season. They have won only 3 games this season in the league by more than 2 goals,,,West Ham at OT and Everton twice, dire.

Its one thing getting smashed by City as they can do that to anyone, but some of the performances this season to sides in the bottom ten were horrific, most notably remember Palace, Brighton and Bournemouth walking through them at OT?

What's amusing about the chatter about how open their matches are, its not as if the goal difference is stellar either to say the least.

He has been let down for sure by Rashford and a few others but on this seasons evidence he is not up to the task sadly.

No idea who to replace him, but thankfully Big Jim will be paying people big bucks to figure that out!

The best part about ETH potentially out the door is that the most obvious candidate is Southgate.

That appointment and the ensuing laughs would at least some part take the pain away from Klopp going.

RDZ is also very obviously on the move, Brighton look disinterested and he's checked out. Be interesting to see who takes that gamble given he's a bit of an abrasive type for a big club but it does seem inevitable he's elsewhere next season.

United are in a similar position to Chelsea right now re: next move on the managerial front. Unfortunately there's no standout options available and it just so happens there are more appealing projects on the hunt for those that are willing to take the next step, ie RDZ, Amorim, Nagelsmann etc.

They're either going to have to gamble on an unknown manager, or just stick it out and hope things turn around.

Obvious caveat when it comes to betting odds about how volatile they are, but Southgate and Potter as favs to replace him probably means he gets another year especially as it will cost him fortunes to replace him.

EDIT....Tuchel is third fav to replace him, doubt you will find anyone who would want to see Tuchel as Man U manager.

Camavinga celebrating that goal was embarassing
He scored an equalizing (albeit lucky) goal in a UCL quarter final against the favourites for the competition, he can celebrate however he wants.

Gnabry on the other hand was glorious haha didn't even hesitate to celebrate against his former club in front of a packed Emirates.

BARNES OUT
Filippo Inzaghi would lose his **** after scoring the 7th in an 8-0 win over Tier 6 opposition in a pre-season friendly, a miskick onto his arsecheek that should have been disallowed for 4 different reasons. That's the celebration energy every footballer should aspire to.
No one should aspire to be Italian imo
