I wonder what it will take for people to realize that Jadeja isn't a frontline spinner on an unhelpful surface. His action simply sucks when it comes to getting revs. Roundarm darting is what it most of his deliveries amount to. There is zero threat that he's going to get any meaningful...

Drop Ishant. And I strongly disagree with your assessments of Rahane and Rohit. Two of the most accomplished fc batsmen from India and their techniques have not looked at sea here in SA. If they show good temperament with their shot selection, they should go well during this run of overseas series

Murali Vijay is not a good player of pace bowling. He has shown good temperament thus far, but the pacers will starve him of runs. Bring on a spinner, and he'll get a release and just feast. Besides, you need just one over to test out a pitch.

Why didn't Dhoni play two spinners on this pitch? He is such a weasel on overseas pitches that play to India's strengths. Refused to play two spinners at Sydney or Adelaide. Refused to play two spinners at The Oval. Ugh

But seriously, Graeme Smith showing why no one rates him as a captain. Bringing on a spinner so early into the innings is just silly

    Bouncy tracks suit Dhawan's game

Oh yeah, and the pull shot is not on for Dhawan. His backfoot looks like it's nailed into the ground.

Really hate the selection for Jadeja over Ashwin. Not because I think it will fail, but because I think this is a better pitch for Ashwin than Jadeja. Jadeja is better for spin-unfriendly pitches where India needs roundarm darts and maidens from its spinner. But if it turns later as they say and...

Who should be the next West Indies Test match captain?

I think he has a tendency to want to look cool all the time, but I also think he's pretty intense about his batting now. I like that he has a bit of lip in his interviews and wants to be recognized as a top level test batsman. Ramdin's 'Talk Nah' moment makes me always picture him as immature...

Will Chanderapul be considered an all time great?

Yeah, that's probably the weakest criticism, but when you consider how much Sammy really has hamstrung the side, Chanders putting his hand up would have gone a long way

Sledging or an excuse to get personal?

I don't think manners and propriety is what makes cricket a great sport/game. If anything, I think the sense of propriety is used as a tool for social exclusion (notice how most cricketers, though particularly batsman, come from a certain income background). I'd be more focused on trying to make...

Sledging or an excuse to get personal?

I was really thinking about basketball, a contact sport but hardly bruising the way the NHL or the NFL is. Trashtalk is common, but no one really complains. I'm really not so big into describing sledging as either a test of mental toughness or a sign of cowardice. It simply shouldn't be a big...

btw, Tahir averages 11.25 with a strike rate of 63.82. I think he could have seen off a few balls if he was called on to do so. He isn't anywhere near Chris Martin status

Will Chanderapul be considered an all time great?

First, he is easily an ATG imo. The unorthodox technique makes that even more so. You try ripping up the textbook and developing your own solid defensive technique. I actually love watching him bat. The beauty of cricket is that there's no one way to defend, score runs, or take wickets. To watch...
