Not sure what the alternative would have been? Would have been good if Wood were available or if Atkinson could have come back earlier, but alas it seems all of our bowlers are made out of biscuitsEnglands bowling tactics this series seem rather self destructive : four seamers bowled into the ground on lifeless pitches, including the captain, and as a result we go into the decider with 2 bowlers returning from injury whove hardly played, 2 part-time spinners and 36-year-old Woakes who’s played every game.
Maybe playing Tongue more?Even though I don't think he's a top notch Test bowlerNot sure what the alternative would have been? Would have been good if Wood were available or if Atkinson could have come back earlier, but alas it seems all of our bowlers are made out of biscuits
Looking at the rain radar might be an hour play then off at 12ish.Covers going on, don't think we'll get any play this morning
The beauty of a long test series. The BBC is to reunite with the Met Office for its weather forecasts and climate updates, eight years after the relationship between the two organisations ended.Looking at the rain radar might be an hour play then off at 12ish.
Mad how bad the BBC forecast is compared to the Met Office.
Indeed nothing else like it.The beauty of a long test series. Nothing else like it
There was some criticism in one of the papers about the series being crammed in just to allow the pyjama party (AKA the 100) have its full August slot. It's quite reasonable that they could have allowed a few extra days for the series. Players are not robots. India themselves are playing quite a different team. The issue is that there isn't exactly any young gun making a real play for a test slot. All the bowlers who have recently been used by England into their latter 20s or above. The last one who was significantly younger was Hull in the Sri Lanka test last year, and that was a dreadful pick given that the bloke hadn't done anything at all in county cricket.Englands bowling tactics this series seem rather self destructive : four seamers bowled into the ground on lifeless pitches, including the captain, and as a result we go into the decider with 2 bowlers returning from injury whove hardly played, 2 part-time spinners and 36-year-old Woakes who’s played every game.
I’d have liked to have seen Potts come in for this Test, but I accept he’s not first choiceMaybe playing Tongue more?Even though I don't think he's a top notch Test bowler
McCullum doesn't get enough **** for outright saying that a large reason Hull was picked was because he came from a farming family. Worst selection criteria imaginable. There was some criticism in one of the papers about the series being crammed in just to allow the pyjama party (AKA the 100) have its full August slot. I can't say that I recall that, but the lack of merit made me spew. Anyway, how long before Pope burns all 3 reviews this morning?McCullum doesn't get enough **** for outright saying that a large reason Hull was picked was because he came from a farming family. Worst selection criteria imaginable.
He is a moron. How many times is he going to call HeadsGill's lost the toss again. England bowling. One takeaway for Shubman here - tails never fails.
