After the ball bounces, the camera captures its position at multiple points to track the trajectory. Seems pretty straightforward to me.I'm skeptical how Hawk Eye simulates variable bounce here. Does it run on a trained deep learning algorithm?
Magnificently similar, almost to a faultArcher bowled like Ambrose in this game.
Windies pacers are on fire recently— Shamar, Jayden, Alzarri… and now JofraArcher bowled like Ambrose in this game.
Wait, who exactly are these superstars? I am the last person to defend GG coz I think he is the most insecure idiot (at least based on his public persona) in Indian cricket (and that is saying something, given the talent we have there) but he basically inherited a side that was aging and getting worse. We managed to hang on to the Eng series coz they were worse and Gill had a great series along with Jurel and Kuldeep.Gambhir should be fired on the Lords balcony ..
Superstar squad producing bang average results home and away .
If you can help it, don't be born Indian is my humble suggestion.I read a quote recently:
In India, when the son Returns Home From Playing Cricket With Friends, his parents ask aim "How Many Runs Did You Score ?
But In Australia, parents Ask The Son "Did Your Team Win" ?
I could be reading too much into it, but did the Pant run out, among other moments, stem from a general mindset issue in India that places milestones and individual achievements over what the team needs? The bottom line is that nobody will remember Rahul's ton or Bumrah's 5 wicket haul as years go by. Everyone will recall the spell of Carse, Stokes, and Archer that led England's fightback.
I feel India needs to do some self evaluation on placing the team first. No coach or speaker can teach you to replicate that on the field.
It's also advertisers' fault glorifying individuals sometimes even bigger than the game which somewhat forces these players to think about these milestones even if its not their absolute priority.I read a quote recently:

Even saying all that though, all Rishabh needed to do there was to dive and he would have made it. Sometimes things just unravel when you least expect it. They were thinking it was harmless enough to push Bashir for a single and get Rahul on strike. Hopefully Rahul learns and gets better.I read a quote recently:

That's the thing about Australia. They may not be clinical, but they know how to get the job done when it matters most. That's why I admire their killer instinct and winning mentality. The team never gives in. I can't say the same about India, I'm sorry to say. When the going gets tough, they fall like 10 pins. Seems like their 2 ICC trophy victories haven't changed that, at least not in test match cricket. Not being following the Aus vs WI games too closely but I was constantly surprised how Australia have kept managing to put on runs and almost always cross 200 despite poor starts. Someone always shows up to put the brakes on a collapse. Just doesn’t happen with consistency with India anymore.
Yeah only difference would be Ambrose wouldn't have bowled anything full or half volley. That Pant wicket really felt like an Ambrose ball.Magnificently similar, almost to a fault
This was the perfect pace for the situation. They had a partnership of 30 runs off a 100 balls at a time when Archer was running through the side.I get Reddy was in a tough spot here and it's hard to overly criticize him but his batting in both games when he's managed to stay in for a minute has been confusing. He's an IPL power hitter batting in the lower order. He's been anything but so far.
There is always blow ins when we lose and blow ins when we win. Just hope all of them are binned tbh. This was the perfect pace for the situation. They had a partnership of 30 runs off a 100 balls at a time when Archer was running through the side.![]()
The top order really has to be kicking themselves though, especially Jaiswal and Gill. Gave England a real foothold when they could have buried them just by getting through to stumps mostly unscathed.I really think it has been a case of a great bowling performance by England more than anything else this innings.
We can always look back at the runs we let their tail score, the runs our tail could not score and our collapse yesterday but really, this win is because of a great bowling performance in the first session of day 5 by England, above all else.
And, to reiterate, it was a really good toss to win.
In club cricket there have been several times when I've yorked someone only for the ball to take a freakish bounce and go over the stumps. Another time the batter had dug a huge divot where he'd marked his guard and the ball landed in it and went sideways. Never seen that happen in pro cricket though. I guess the bowling is that much faster that it simply can't deviate the same amount. After the ball bounces, the camera captures its position at multiple points to track the trajectory. Are you talking about cases where there's a shout when the ball hits the batsman before bouncing? I mean I guess that's technically a loophole, but how many times out of a million is it going to happen that a batsman gets struck on the full, and the ball would have ended up bouncing OVER the stumps and missing only due to height?
