I'm only saying what I think selectors will do. I'm still in shock that when Inglis and Carey both played in same whiteball game they made Inglis the keeper and put Carey in the outfield

They would play wood archer and atkinson for ashes thoSo England bats just scored 6 ducks in 1st innings vs India, while the bowling attack of Woakes, Carse, Tongue, Stokes and Bashir went for 1014 runs for 16 wkts
...does Ashes prep get any better than this![]()
If they're the best pace attack why aren't they playing now? If not fit what makes you think they can last a 5 Test Ashes seres? They would play wood archer and atkinson for ashes tho
They wont play all of them. Wood 1,3 and 5 and Archer 2 and 4.If they're the best pace attack why aren't they playing now? If not fit what makes you think they can last a 5 Test Ashes seres?
They wish. They would play wood archer and atkinson for ashes tho
Root and strokes would play till 2027 home ashesSmith, Head, the lower order and the bowling attack will get this done but I get the feeling that'll be the last Ashes win that they'll taste for a while
If you cast your eye to the future, England won't change much for the next 4 years whereas Aust will be unrecognisable say the next Ashes in England
Which is why I said England won't change much. I'm not sure about Stokes thoughRoot and strokes would play till 2027 home ashes
But england really need to find good fast bowlers. They are like 2000s india. Atg batting line up but poor bowling attackWhich is why I said England won't change much. I'm not sure about Stokes though
Nah, they're just playing on a lot of roadsBut england really need to find good fast bowlers. They are like 2000s india. Atg batting line up but poor bowling attack
Are they going to pull players out of their state teams to play against the England Lions though? Although both games are FC, I presume the Aus A team will be stronger than the CA XI?Recent Aus A teams at the beginning of summer have been plenty strong tbh; not out of some spirit of generosity but because the selectors put a lot of weight on them for future possible selection
That's what they've done in past summers yesAre they going to pull players out of their state teams to play against the England Lions though? Although both games are FC, I presume the Aus A team will be stronger than the CA XI?
England have actually done ok in the First Test of foreign tours recently, the last time they didn't win one was that farcical tour of W Indies in 2022. Not saying they will win this time, but being under-prepared has not generally been a thing.England are going to play a 2 day game against a PM’s XI before the day/night Test. That game will take place between Sheffield Shield rounds, so might feature a strong PM’s XI, but knowing the dastardly Aussies, it’ll probably feature a load of scrubs
In true England fashion, the only warm-up before the first Test will be a 3-day intra-squad game with the Lions, then the Lions will have 2 FC matches against a Cricket Australia XI (coinciding with the first Test), then Australia A during the second Test. Considering both of those games will also take place during Sheffield Shield rounds, how strong will those teams be?
