Jumped on the Panthers this week @14/1. If anyone can win outside the top four it's them.
i actually don't think it's a bad signing from Parra (from an on field standpoint)Smells of Watmough vibes imo. Strange signing. Probably confirms what we already know - Lane and Materson are done and he wants another experienced forward to bring along the younger fellas we have. Only decent thing about it is the second year is an option in favour of the club not the player. At least that aspect is smart. And they got him pretty cheap by all reports.
Maybe they're also fulfilling the standard nrl club quota of having one accused *** offender on the books, and figure they're in front because his case has been dealt with.
what must be of some concern to your blokes is how much worse you looked once Galvin came on and Mahoney went off tbhvery english for celebrating a moral victory here but seeing the panthers throw every shot they got at the blue and white wall and only coming away with a try off a charge down has me feeling good! we’re big!
incredible game of rugby league. game of the year.

ehhhh honestly i don't think he was that bad? when he came on he was super hesitant defensively including getting absolutely dogwalked by cleary, but we were unpolished in attack all night on the little things. montoya stepping out at dummy half for example. honestly not to bag monty too much but, an area of his game he's always been iffy at is being in the right spot to hit the ball in stride on a shift, and he was even worse with it yesty (by virtue of his being asked to play on the other side with a new centre, which is not his fault). likewise kiraz and xerri were clunky together as well, and for the same reason.I reckon if they had to win that then Galvin wouldn't have played. I can see him not being picked in the finals. It's upset the balance of their side imo.
Speaking of Burto and centres/halves, I’ve seen some Dogs fans saying he should go back to the centres.ehhhh honestly i don't think he was that bad? when he came on he was super hesitant defensively including getting absolutely dogwalked by cleary, but we were unpolished in attack all night on the little things. montoya stepping out at dummy half for example. honestly not to bag monty too much but, an area of his game he's always been iffy at is being in the right spot to hit the ball in stride on a shift, and he was even worse with it yesty (by virtue of his being asked to play on the other side with a new centre, which is not his fault). likewise kiraz and xerri were clunky together as well, and for the same reason.
i've said before (and this does include the concept of "sub out your hooker and move your halfback to hooker to allow a bench utility to play halfback"), that it could well be that ciraldo's the best x's and o's coach in the comp but he's a horrendous selector. the game against the dolphins he brought in taaffe to play centre, one game during origin last year against the roosters he moved burto to centre and brought drew hutchison into the halves. often goes in too small on the bench. it's not the first time he's done something puzzling with the selections
those people are ****ing morons and they shouldn't be allowed to vote let alone comment on rugby league. end of.Speaking of Burto and centres/halves, I’ve seen some Dogs fans saying he should go back to the centres.
I’d disagree, it did quite start to feel he was wasting a little talent in his later time at Penrith. I think, similar to how he was used at origin he can be a really good 5/8th, but he needs that top class halfback to play with - he shouldn’t be the first kicking option for the majority of the time which seems to be the case rn. For example if he’d still been with us when Luai left, he’d slot in perfectly as someone who could run the ball, but also as an alternate kicker with his spirals or for huge distance kicks. He still looks at his deadliest running the ball.
Parra winning would have been better for your *** life though. That was a really good win by the dragons tbh. I know parra came back in the 2nd half - but that’s to be expected with no bench left due to injuries. Glad we held on and won, extremely happy I’ve been to 3 games this year and won all 3
What I will say though, there was so many parra fans in the Gong last night
Haven’t heard him I don’t think? Then again I only watch on Fox.Willie Mason has to be the most surprisingly good former players turned commentator/pundit. He has a great voice, never stumbles over words and worthwhile opinions on the game. Always good to hear him and I wonder if channel 7 at least can use him more.
He's on the news. 7 I think - I mean they're all much the same. He's used sparingly so remains fresh but I have to admit I stick around after the ad break if they're promoting Mason on the other side of it.Haven’t heard him I don’t think? Then again I only watch on Fox.
